Having been to many buffet, I have to say this deserve the award being 'The worst of the Worst'. Buffet restaurant but constantly run out of food. Everyone have only 1 plate to use throughout the whole meal, so you pretty much clean out your own excess food after use to be able to reuse. Foods is limited variety and pretty crappy even buffet standard. Soft drink so flat, it was served from a 2litre Coke bottle probably open few weeks ago. Desserts only brought out at the end and very limited, which mean if you happen to finish your meals early, you gotta wait for others to be able to have dessert. Even though I use vouchers for only half price, I feel being ripped off.

Fantastic find in Prahran. There is nothing like this place anywhere in Melbourne. Food was divine, cocktails were delicious and the whole dining room was quirky, arty and old bling bling mixture. Service was friendly and casual and Music was Ministry of sound meets Cafe del Mar. Love it.

Unsual Asian eatery along Chapel St. From the name we gathered it was Asian but not sure which cuisine. As it turns out it "pans across Asia". Clean fresh and friendly. A bit under staff but when they arrive service was pretty on the ball Brought my mates from interstate and got brownie points for picking the venue. Love the seafood pajeri roasted coconut pineapple curry and the melt in your mouth confit pork with lup cheong wongbok. Wish it was a bigger serve. Good wine and cocktail list. At 10.30 when we stepped out the whole of Chapel Street seems to be buzzing with night life.

Wow, would love to have found this place earlier to hold many of my functions here. Such a grand place and would have been fantastic to have some of my office parties here. Love the mushroom gyoza and sweet toasted coconut seafood curry. Service was very good and attentive and again not the typical non existence service you would find in most Asian restaurants.
Drinks list was impressive and we had half price cocktail for ladies only that evening. If you park metered parking be sure to check because nearly ruined the evening as we got back to the car just before the parking inspector reached us.

Ambience of the restaurant was nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was a little disappointing though, all the dished were over seasoned.

Two lessons learnt. One: When a restaurant has your booking for the wrong night it may be a sign from the Gods above to dine elsewhere. Two: If you want to see great artwork hit up a gallery as the fingerfood is generally well catered for.
Now the artwork was the main attraction drawing us in originally, with the online menu looking rather inticing also. The artwork is pretty cool and we were, as requested, seated right next to the large painting, an impressive backdrop for any photos. The interior of the restaurant is brilliant, with the high ceilings and chandelier adding a touch of traditional class amongst lanterns (apparently generated by a butter knife) and other mish mash touches.
The service is almost Fawlty Towers worthy, they do not seem intentionally rude, they just lack the capacity to do their job. They had very little knowledge of the menu and lacked the usual courtesies of a waiter. There were several 'stuff ups' also from oysters arriving brothless and the chaps served without their fire spice sauce. That said you would never dehydrate as the glasses as filled non-stop throughout the evening.
The food was not horrific but it was by no means anything worthy of a return. We all ate our dishes with the seafood mix springrolls as a starter being the winning dish. They were filled with seafood and cooked it what appeared to be a very clean oil. The scallops served with what was described as a 'Chinese green sauce' were fresh but the sauce tasted like what I would imagine slimey dirt tastes like. The shredded duck salad was quite delicious.
My main, the BBQ spicey lamb, (also ordered by two others) was served pretty much cold and lacked any real omph. Apparently the chicken was quite a hit and the seafood soup could have done with some more marine life. Sadly even the sides of jasmine rice were disappointly claggy. As for dessert there was a mixed response with the apple pie and cheese plate being the most edible.
At a certain point of the evening the lights were dimmed and the karaoke started, well karaoke is losely used as it was just the senior staff battling out his favourite tunes. It sure was entertaining, possibly for the wrong reasons!
There is occasionally a fine line between a horrible experience and a truly memorable and hilarious one, thankfully all of the negatives of this restaurant actually allowed for a very amazing evening. A magnificent night made so by the tragicness of it all!

Chef Kin San's Asian/Western fusion style food is as beautiful as it is delicious, and his impeccable attention to detail reflects his many years of excellence at the peak of the industry. I was well served by Danny Lay, the friendly and efficient matrede and I eagerly look forward to my next opportunity to dine here again, and as the trams stops right outside the door, the convenience is a definite plus!
