The menu is varied and there are plenty of tasty dishes to tempt everyone, the tempura oysters that we start with are so good, crispy outer with a big, soft butter fresh oysters encased in a tempura batter of shredded potato, carrot and red onion and served with a yum lime mayo.

Visited this Malaysian restaurant with a friend tonight and while the food was very good the service was over-bearing. You had hardly finished your glass of wine or put the fork down and waiters were hovering to take plates / glasses away (even if not empty). Don't get me wrong the service wasn't bad but way way too much in your face.

I hate to say it but Omah's has gone downhill. Our meal tonight started with a shock when the three mains we ordered arrived with barely enough food to feed 2. Not good when you spend $80 at a restaurant highly rated in the 'Cheap Eats' guide.

The second shock was how awful the food was. The Nasi Goreng was burnt, the five spice calamari limp and tasteless, the $28 fish dish that was hard to find, when questioned the staff told us the dish was only a half fillet, making us feel like we had done something wrong in expecting $28 might buy a full one! The duck San choi bao may have actually been duck, it was hard to tell due to the sauce that completely overpowered any other flavor. This was inedible and none of the 3 of us was willing to have a second taste. Again, the staff showed no interest in our concerns, no offer of a replacement or apology.

And this was the third part of the terrible treble, the staff showed absolutely no concern at our complaints, no apology, no offer to make good, no offer to replace the burnt dish, just an attitude that was arrogant and distasteful.

So Omah's the little gem in Port, is a goner. This was the worst meal I have had in many years, and given the poor quality, it may have been a blessing that so little arrived.

One of those places that is probably not the first choice but will do as there is just enough to like about the food to have it again. One of the biggest issues I have with Omah's is the fact that most beef/chicken dishes seem to contain the same sauce??

The Lobahk is great! Seafood (though tasty) serves are quite small so don't expect any more than 4-5 prawns per main which is why the value for money is hard to rate highly.

Food is excellent. We had a chicken curry and a tangy beef dish and fried rice for mains and light curry puffs for entree. The flavours are full without being overpowering. There is spice in the dish without an overload of chilli.

Service was a bit slow though for a Sunday night. It looked like the staff were concentrating on gettng the takeaway and home delivery orders out the door. Waitress who greeted us was a bit cold but she became friendlier as the meal wore on.

Baby chairs available, but they are not easy to adjust and tighten. In the end, I pulled my own out and used it for my toddler. Food is good so I'd go back if I was in Melbourne again.

Went to Omah's recently and overall we enjoyed the experience. The food was good (yummy crab!) and the ambience is not bad for a dinner for two. Service was also fine. Would only score this place a bit low on value for money. Overall though, a nice place.

Terrible value, 4 prawns on the plate for $27, not good enough really. Service, felt like we were rushed on a Tuesday night in an empty place. Would not go back.
