We went to this place for Sunday lunch. Bad from beginning to end!

The man who took the phone booking was extremely rude. The man who just stood behind the counter (senior staff) was extremely rude and unhelpful when there was a small issue with the booking. It took his staff, who were nice, to actually do something. We used a coupon which included wine. We didn't want wine but the senior staff would not substitute for tea (much cheaper).

The food took over 45 minutes to arrive, they were not very busy either. My chicken was cold when it arrived. When we went to pay, the senior staff was utterly rude again. He never even looked me in the eye as he snobbed me off.

This is the first bad review I have ever written. We will never ever ever go to this place again and recommend anyone to stay far far away, horrible all round!

Went to Olmecs to lunch with some girlfriends on Sunday. Arrived early and had to wait for a table. Friends arrived, one had a baby in a pram. Seating arrangement definately not ideal. My friend asked if we could move the chairs around so she can put the pram on the other side, as it was next to the coffee grinder which was very loud. The owner said "Well maybe you should have left your baby at home"!! Obviously we left and will NOT return. Oh, and the coffee was AWFUL.

My partner and I recently visited Olmecs Cafe the coffee is fantastic infact one of the best on Bridge Road. Our visit was on a Sunday and the Cafe was extremely busy, the staff were all extremely nice, we waited about 20 - 25 minutes for our food to arrive which was fine considering the place was so busy. Food and Coffee was fantastic we will definitely visit again.

Olmecs disappoints in its breakfast offering. Whilst it claims to be a bakery/restaurant/cafe, confused genre perhaps? The scrambled eggs on toast with extra sausage and mushrooms were uninspiring and "hotel bain marie" breakfast like. The caesar salad had too much dressing and the croutons were soft. Not a pricey place, handy location if you needed a quick bite, but given the location, you can certainly get better bang for buck elsewhere.

Appalling service! Picture this, a group of 6 women, all with children (at home except one new born), one currently pregnant. Out enjoying a rare evening together without the children, celebrating Christmas. Mains were good, tasty and very decent serves. Desserts ordered, but not forthcoming after about 20 minutes. Given we had ordered premade desserts and it was not at all busy being a Monday, we thought it was taking a bit long. But not to worry, we cancelled the desserts and asked for the bill as some of us needed to get back to little ones.

Bill arrives, complete with a little extra item "Pregnant people are gross" listed under the lemon lime and bitters. I take the bill up to the counter and ask to speak to the manager. "Is there a problem" asks our waiter? He still gets the manager, a girl a few years older than him perhaps. She appears mortified, and gives us our drinks for free, but then minutes later is giggling with the waiter in the corner.

B grade restaurant at best and inexcusably rude behaviour from the staff.

I find this a very relaxing place for coffee or a quick meal at just about any time. The service is sometimes a little confused and irregular, but that's how a relaxed place works. It's a spacious place which is not too noisy. The range of food is fine. It's a good place for meeting people to talk over coffee or a light meal.

Had the Farmer's breakfast and everything was cooked wrong. The steak was horridly overcooked, the eggs were overcooked, the spinach was undercooked, and there was hardly any baked beans on the plate. The server seemed generally disinterested, never coming by to ask how the food was, etc. Will not be returning!

Had brunch here Sunday. Admittedly it was Father's Day but service was slow and food basic. Had to chase the waiter who just seemed to be strolling around doing not much at all and in the end did not even get any water. Ordered an egg and bacon panini which arrived quickly but the eggs were overcooked and there was no butter or relish or anything else on the panini, so very dry. Seemed like a great place when we arrived but doubt I will return.

This is the first time I have dined here and I will certainly be returning. Six of us arrived for a brunch, we were seated very quickly. We did have to go and get a waiter and ask for our order to be taken but it was a very busy Sunday. We all enjoyed our choices very much and found the size of serves to be more than ample.
