Given the previous reviews (which was why we visited this restaurant) we were disappointed. We waited 30 minutes from the time we ordered until our entree arrived and it was placed on the table with no explanation or greeting. The crispy prawns were good as was the mixed entree apart from the fish cakes that were spongy. The restaurant was noisy, even though there were only three other tables occupied.
It looked like a cafe that had been turned into a restaurant, the kitchen was open to the room. The main meal we ordered (tamarind beef, $22) had three large cubes of very tender beef, green beans and marrow in a watery sauce, the meat was very tender but had no particular taste. The roti was dry and toasted. Overall an average experience but not as good as we were led to believe, sorry.
A real gem, doesn't look like much but is absolutely miles above your average local "curry house" and so much more. Very delicate food, beautifully described and served. Highly recommended.
Great food, very tasty and authentic. Lamb curry was cooked to perfection +++tender no knife required! Very simple surroundings with nice art pieces on the walls. A little on the pricey side for this type of Asian cuisine but worth it. Service was great, no excess waiting for meals.
Outstanding curries, good service and decent decor. Points deducted for the roti w/chickpeas. The roti was great, chickpeas, bleh. My mixed seafood curry was great, the fish really stood out - mussels and prawns were ok but not great. Other dishes we had were quite nice. Will be returning.
Great authentic fresh food. The fish curries, goat dishes and the chicken salads are so different and refreshing. Love the home made fish cakes!! The decor is quite plain and homely, but the food and pricing more than compensates. A favoutite with the "AGE" foodwriters who dine there which inspires confidence!!
