What can I say? Ocha is pretty good and their specials on the board are usually quite spot on for the season and the weather for some reason.

I hate the fact that sometimes if you book an earlier table, you're made to feel like they rush you off to ready for the next group (but can't blame them, since its so small here). You come here for the food and although it is supposedly Japanese food it has slight twists.

Some of the dishes are too powerful for my liking in terms of sauce and herbs. The deep fried tempura items are slightly too oily for my liking, except for the prawn balls which are awesome (and which you can eat at their Ocha 2 Go shop as well).

Note that I did not rate this as a Japanese restaurant as such, as its a bit too deviated from the run of the mill stuff but that's where it excels as well, provided the flavours aren't too overwhelming on some dishes. Oh well.

How they got a hat, is beyond me. Good food in a terrible room, served by people who are cafe waiters at best. A lot better places you can eat for the ok offerings in 80's acceptable surroundings. Calamari very average.

The food was awesome and the manager Paul is a true industry professional. His attentive service and advice on what to order was fantastic. Don't BYO they have a good reasonably priced wine list with a good choice by the glass.

Fantastic food with flavours and textures that will tempt even the fussiest of diners.

A little loud and cramped for my liking but the food is worth being slightly put out for an hour or two.

Have been to this restaurant 4 times over the past 3 years. Very small and cramped but the staff are first class, and obviously enjoy their work and the company of the other staff. The food - well it is in the top tier. The best value I have experienced.
