Great food, great atmosphere, great service. We are going to make North Eastern Hotel our "local away from home".

From the external appearance you would say that it was average country Hotel, but as the saying goes, looks can be deceiving. From a previous review I decided to check this place out, and the only disappointing thing is I will be heading home before being able to dine there again on this trip. Excellent Service, excellent food and great atmosphere and exceptional value.. I will be back, with numerous friends.

First of all let me say that from the outside you wouldn't think the pub is anything special. However, once you walk in, it is one of the nicest hotels we have Ever been in. The decor, ambience and furnishings are like you get in a CBD motel. They have an extensive drinks menu and 3 open fires and we had lunch there recently.
I ordered the Pork Loin with garlic and parsley mash and vegetables ($16). It was very tender and an ample portion for the money. The only hint I would give the chef is to avoid using All green veges. Colour is variety and maybe fresh carrots, squash or cauliflower would have added excitement and variety to the presentation.
Having said that, the meal itself was very good. My partner ordered the Traditional Shepherds Pie from the restaurant menu. Served with greens only (as there was ample mash in the pie) the dish was $24. When it arrived I thought there could have been more on her plate and once again there was only a green option. However, my partner said there was enough food and the quality was excellent.
The service here is First Class. A genuinely warm lady greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Definitely a place to eat and worth the 5km detour off the highway.
