Naked For Satan Fitzroy, Melbourne

Naked for Satan is a vodka and pintxos bar in Brunswick Street. It meets the key criteria for a good bar. The food is good—with a variety of meat and vegetarian choices and small desserts available as well. The pintxos are affordable, thus attracting a rather disparate crowd of office people out for after work drinks and uni students for a quick fix. The bar also has an interesting setup—a large space with tables on one side and a bar on the other. The staff is down-to-earth, making the whole experience fun for bar patrons.

Went in on a Monday night to find the placed packed with Brunswick St hipster uni students and really loud doof doof dance music blaring out of the sound system. Walked through to the back and then had to wait for the waitress to finish chatting with her friends before being told to "just sit wherever". Left without trying anything, and this was disappointing as had heard good things about this place.

We're presented with some delicious looking (and smelling) beef meatballs smothered in tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. We haven't grabbed our plates yet, so she brings us one each and we tuck in. Yuuuummmm.

This place as a real cool vibe as soon as you walk through the door, upstairs has an even more relaxed feel with dim lighting variety of different table set ups and sofas. You could go there for a date one on one or a big group and the venue will suit.

I went there for lunch for the 50 cent special, each piece was just fifty cents great value. The usual price is two dollars. It is very different to any other tapas type place I have been to, it is self serve for all the cold tapas and it is all served on pieces of bread similar to French stick. They walk around with hot tapas and offer it to punters but as we were late we missed out on this deal.

There was a huge variety on offer my favourite was the blue cheese honey and eggplant. The food is more like gourmet party food (sandwiches) than tapas but is still good. I would recommend you give it try, the staff told me there is a very different vibe at night so I will check it out sometime.
