Loved it here - one hat quality food and a delightful, unique ambience. Gorgeous character. Great service. Beautiful food. What more can you ask for? They now do a set lunch $25 too which was very filling and very fine dining.

MOO was a great find. The food was delicious and interesting. The chef has a great ability to marry taste, texture and presentation. The food was divine. The restaurant is very eclectic with a European (maybe Spanish) feel. The service friendly and efficient. I recommend MOO very highly.

Visited moo on sat night 4th have heard good things, we were not disappointed, the service was great not intrusive as alot of other places are the food (degustation menu) was extremely good $95 dollars for 7 courses what a bargain we are already planning our next visit with friends the only downside of the evening was the really awful sewerage smell through the whole place, well done and thanks for making our night out special.

Great feel and ambience, with a wine list to die for. The degustation menu was great (exotic, but never too off-the-wall). The main let down was the horrendously slow service. Our group of three ordered at 6:30 pm, and didn't get our first serve until 8:30 pm. The waiter explained that the "large tourist group" (of six) next to us had ordered a few steaks, and they got priority. There were about 15 people in the restaurant that night, all up.

How the kitchen would cope with a full house of 40 is anybody's guess. In summary, good food and wine, but the slow delivery is a real black mark.

Worst eating experience I've ever had in Melbourne. My wife and I had flown down to Melbourne for a weekend away and friends had booked this restaurant.

First of all service was definitely without a smile. The six of us sat down at 7:45 pm with a booking for 8 pm. However, we did not receive a drink order until 8:45. Which you could forgive if the place was full but I counted 10 other patrons.

The menu looked great and at the cost of $69 a head for two courses with a choice of sides, I thought ok this place seems to have everything going for it but once again I was wrong.

The main courses came out at 9:45 and were frankly bland and terrible. Two meals had been warmed up in the microwave and you could see the perspiration around the plate and the lamb dish was so rare it was turning blue. We told the waitress but she told us "Thats how it comes".

Also only two out of the six of us got our side dishes, the others went without. When we asked how long for the sides the waitress rudely told us we did not order any! We asked for her manager and showed them both the menu stipulating that 1 side was included in the 2 meal offer and that we had in fact ordered our sides.

At last dessert came at 10:45 along with two sides of broccoli and potato. Nothing special. During this time we had only one drink order and when we asked for further refills from the waiter he had forgotten our order.

At the end of the meal we called over the waiter and told him of how bad the food was and the service he simply said "Not my problem, I cannot go into the kitchen and tell the chef to cook faster or magically make your night better". We all vowed never to come here again and to tell everyone how bad the place is.

Food, below mediocre, to say its RSL food is an insult to RSL food. Ambience, was actually nice because the place was pretty empty. Service, abysmal, rude and uninterested. Value, $69 a head for below average food.

Disappointing, after what we had heard, unfortunately, the service, the time taken to get food and inexperienced and at first quite rude staff were a big let down, however, when we eventually got it the food and wine was excellent. I dread to think what it would have been like with more then 6 people. Especially as the restaurant was not busy by any means for a saturday night.

One person asked for more bread and got told there was none, we could see the bread table from where we sat! we wanted to have the degustation but were not allowed to substitute oysters out. In general very inflexible. Other diners left before ordering as it took so long to get menus or service to get orders. We were not asked if we would like coffee. Took ages to get the bill.

Oh and they need to get the drains looked at as there is a bad sewerage smell by the toilets. They did, however, give us free dessert as compensation.

Take your money elsewhere. Short and simple! Extremely rude service and deceitful management passing up poor quality steak as "wagyu". No meaty flavour, no chargrilled taste, just poor for any ordinary piece of steak at a restaurant. Will never go back.

MOO has come a long way in the last six months. Having been there on a few occasions, the food has been consistently good. The flavors are creative yet simple and elegant as is the presentation of the food.

The service has also improved vastly. The degustation menu is fantastic, the freshness of the produce jumps of the plate. The wine selection speaks for its self. The pairing of degustation wines with the food is also worth mentioning. The ambience of the place will definitely be drawing me back.
