Overview of Mitre Tavern Steakhouse

Housed in the first floor of the Mitre Tavern, the Mitre Steakhouse serves premium steak in a fantastic, warm environment.

All our steaks are sourced from Australia's largest beef supplier Top Cut, meaning we have only the best of the best for our guests. We typically offer a range of both grass-fed and grain-fed beef, depending on seasonality. All our sauces are made in-house and are complimentary with your steak (as they should be!).

Our winelist is largely full, strong reds to compliment our meaty dining experience. We do offer BYO for those who want to bring in a special bottle of wine.

We'd love to see you come up to the first floor of the Mitre Tavern and enjoy a big juicy steak, perhaps with a Barossa red, finishing with a cheeky cheese platter and perhaps a couple of cleansing ales in the beer-garden after.

This place seems frozen in time. I remember coming here in the mid 80s and not much has changed at all. Upstairs, the restaurant area still has that clubby sort of English pub feel. The food is above average pub food, steaks are the go and they do them pretty well. Not a bad option if you are looking for a steak and a good glass of red.

Another recommendation for our Hotel Concierge, great food, great service, a little pricey perhaps, but not overly. Goeff was fantastic making it a great night. Quiet upstairs but very busy downstairs in the main area. Fully recommend.

I went there for my birthday in May and it was during the week, so maybe it's different on the weekend. There was no music and hence no ambience. All we could here is the chief telling dirty jokes and talking up the waitresses. The food was ok but it should have been much better for the price. I felt disappointed.

Had dinner here last night, venue is very old world and charming upstairs. Food was outstanding, must try the stir fry greens as a side. Whilst it was a Monday night and fairly quiet the service was excellent. Although not cheap I would recommend as good all round value for money.
