I agree, its a bar for after work drinks or a great function space. I have eaten here though many times and the food has been great and the staff very friendly. There aren't many good pubs down this end of town, so I am greatful for the Mint! Bring on summer is all I can say! That beer garden is great!

No offence to the previous reviewer but its mint bar, not mint restaurant, and at the end of the day if you are ordering wedges in a restaurant are you in any position to complain. As an after work venue, why you would choose to eat here is beyond me, its fantastic, its an afterwork up market drinks place.

Do not go here! Even if you booked, it is likely the staff won't care about you, your meals will be incomplete because they have also "ran out" of key ingredients, and by dessert time, they will have also "ran out" of desserts (because they were "all given to another table and that there were no more!"...), most importantly, they don't tell you this at time of ordering!
I don't normally write any restaurant reviews and am 'easy pleased' as long as I'm fed and the food is nice etc, however, I feel compelled to share a horrible experience I recently had at the Mint Restaurant. My 5 colleagues and I came as a group for our Christmas lunch on 15th Dec. We booked and arrived at 1 pm. The place was busy but really only half full for the duration of our visit.
The staff weren't attentive and it took some 15 minutes to get water on the table. One glass had a noticably dirty film which was quickly replaced. This should have been our omen to leave, but it being the last time all of us would have been together before the new year, we wanted to try and enjoy ourselves.
The food, what did come, and when it finally came, was delicious. We had to wait for ages to be served in the first instance. Then another half an hour or so for wedges (which came without sour cream because they had 'run out' ) and an Antipasto plate without olives and something else listed on the menu because they had 'run out').
The man who served us didn't really seem to care but eventually said he would hastily arrange some Tzatziki dip for the wedges and some extra bread "on the house". Whatever intentions they had, this didn't arrive for another half an hour and we had slowly eaten all the wedges by the time it arrived, so we couldn't even dip them in the Tzatziki.
Our meals arrived sometime after 2:00 pm at last, and pretty much together which was good. We should have been on our way back to the office by then. My meal which was a steak arrived without the accompanying relish. Until it arrived I utilised the under-utilised Tzatziki dip. My colleagues meal arrived without the frittata component and there were several other omissions which I can't remember which made my colleagues disgruntled. Some they had but had forgotten, others again, they had simply 'ran out'. It was the indifference of the waiter that really annoyed me. He didn't really care. Maybe they are used to the criticism and let it wash over themselves...(?)
Lastly, when we went to finally order dessert (why we bothered I don't know, it was a hot day I suppose and we were weary and I guess we wanted to try and end our experience on a happy note....), we were simply told that there were no desserts left and that "that table over there" (point) took the last of them and that was that.
Naturally I was quite stunned. It was almost 3 pm by this time, did the chef want to leave and couldn't be bothered making them? Was there really no icecream left in the place?, or something that could have been made up quickly? Desserts are my favourite part of the menu. Very sad. We left, all quite sad and disgruntled shortly thereafter.
What a pity, its a gorgeous location and has great potential, but the management and staff just don't seem to care about their customers. It must be noted that there were several other groups of people, but the restaurant was by no means more than half full at any time during the 2 hours we were there, nor was there a large customer turnover in that time.
None of us, or any of our friends, workmates or family will ever go there again. I personally, now with the benefit of hinesight, will never put up with it again.
