Minerva is the reincarnation of another Indian cafe on the same site which seemed to stagger along for a couple of years with few patrons, probably because the food was forgettable.

Minerva is a very different place and is an absolute delight to enter with a dozen tables, nicely set and soft light (they obviously listed to views of reviewer Alex440).

Pickles and chutneys appeared at the table along with papadums and the menu. We ordered a few standards (sheek kebab, samosas, butter chicken and dahl and saffron rice, plus garlic nans) and all appeared quite promptly and were fresh and tasty, without being stunning. We were not asked about how hot we wanted the food and I actually found it a bit too mild for my taste, but I have no doubt that they can put a kick in it if asked.

Overall, a very pleasant meal in cozy surroundings with a polite and attentive wait person, and very reasonably prices. Is it the best Indian meal I have had? Not by a long shot, but it was still a great place which satisfy the needs of many dinners. I would recommend the Minerva as a great place for dinner, when you want good honest food.

I went to dinner on the opening night, they were accommodating and gorgeous to be around. Yes the food is hot, we suggested that they give ratings on the menu for the faint hearted. Also suggested dimming the lights, it's too bright. However, throughly enjoyed what we ate.
