My wife and I came to this restaurant for our wedding anniversary. We elected to go for the two course menu (my wife's was vegetarian). The quality of food delivered to my wife was good. However, meal portion sizes were small, my wife's main course of vegetarian lasagne was roughly 3 postage stamps in size. My meal was of average quality. We found the waitress to be rude. When she asked how we found our mains my wife commented on the portion size and the waitress patted her stomach and said "not satisfied"?

She then proceeded to infer that the bottle of wine my wife and I were sharing was too much and wondered who was driving home. When presented with the bill we were overcharged. The waitress said "we often do that" with no apology. We will not be back.

We had the degustation menu, and we enjoyed everything we tasted. Well presented and lovely tasting food. The service was wonderful. There were a few things I couldn't eat, being pregnant, but they were extremely accommodating and made some changes to the menu just for me. I was very appreciative of that.

Quite creative food and surprised to find it in the suburbs close enough to where I live. I must admit there were times when some dishes weren't executed too well, but generally its worth trying the tasting menu. There seems like be slight Asian/Japanese influenced flavours but most if it is traditional to modern European based dishes.

Food tastes really great here, which is what I always look for. Not fanciful but its done right, so can't complain. Well done.

This place is lovely, the food is always beautifully prepared. It is a standout, a reliable favourite. Their little extra touches make it more special, for one visit we celebrated a birthday there, which they marked expecially for us, it was just a nice added gesture. The service is very good. The place is cozy in the winter and a cool haven in the summer. Enjoy!

After living in Melbourne CBD for years and embracing all the culinary delights on offer, our family grew and needed alot more space. For numerous reasons we decided on Eltham and discovered Mercers.

Steven's food is always at the cutting edge. Displaying an exceptional creative flair with well thought out seasonal variations and a balance of his 'old favourites'. For years, my wife was trying to replicate the moment she had onion soup in Paris and Steven's is considerably less than the airfare! This is no ordinary restaurant in the burbs!

Modern french cuisine is beautifully prepared, presented and served in this very classy but friendly restaurant. I live in Sydney but ask to visit each time I'm in Melbourne. Every course is a delight but make sure you keep room for the dessert tasting plate! Perfect to share as a sweet end to a superb meal.
