I have had lunch from this place several times now. I love how they have fully embraced technology and have an online and iphone app ordering system. It saves me from waiting for my order in the cold, wintery Melbourne weather! Everything I have eaten here so far has been fan-expletive-tastic. And it is totally true, Miss Chu Is the rice paper queen. You Must try the duck rice paper roll. It's my favourite.

Stumbled upon this shop while craving for pho on a Sunday. Looks good from outside and with all the photos on the wall. Thought it would be good, so we queue for a place and was instead taken upstairs.
Ordered a beef ball noodle but was given a beef noodle. My pho came first while my wife pho came like 30 minutes after mine (am about to finish mine). Kept asking the lady up there for the order and she kept saying that it's coming, it's coming.
Pho was ok. not too bad but the service was just terrible. Don't think we'll be coming back here again.

Wow. Living just across the street for a short time while I worked in Melbourne, Cafe 58 became my go to place for dinner when I didn't feel like cooking. On my first visit I let Van take the wheel and order for me, and it was so worth it. The best Thai beef salad you will ever have, it is like no other. And the green curry, out of this world, it had an almost bluey tinge to it and I couldn't even compare it to any other green curry. Vegetarian rice paper rolls are something special. So sad that it's in a different state to me!

Its definitely not somewhere I'd go to impress a person but for a good winter feed for a good price and a clean environment, this is the place. Food is yum - just like home made pho, and the staff are friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back gain, highly recommend it to everyone!

Used to eat here for more that 7 years. Very disappointed with the service. Quality of broth has gone down tremendously. Start venturing to neighbouring shops.

Very Nice food, fast service and its worth trying it and it won't waste you time if you try it. The best Vietnamese food you could ever try it. My 1 top Vietnamese restaurant is 'Viet Star'. Even through inside is pretty small with lots of table and noisy. You should go there and have a try its worth it and very cheap price!

It seems Eatability is not that famous with Melbournians as I am the first to review this place!
Recently my lovely fiancé and I went to Melbourne. After reading an article on renowned New York Chef David Chang on his visit to Melbourne and falling in love with Pho at this very place, we just had to check it out ourselves! I mean, David states how on his first visit he was so impressed he ate 2 bowls of Pho, then came back the next day and had more!
I am a Pho enthusiast and have eaten Pho in several countries, including Vietnam and America, where David hails from. He goes on to say that this Pho is a lot better than any he has back at home in the States. So we walked down (from inner Melbourne CBD, quite the walk!) and found ourselves in Victoria Street, Richmond. It reminded me of Cabramatta as it was full of Asian restaurants, shops and butcheries with so many Pho options! When we finally arrived, the place was busy but not packed out like some of the places we passed. It was also quite modern and neat. We had friendly wait staff greet and serve us.
Ok, the verdict? Yummy! We had combination Pho, which in Sydney usually translates to “Beef” Combination Pho, but here it included beef and other items like chicken, liver and a small egg. The Pho was delicious, great tasty broth and the rice noodles had good bite to it. And the large bowl is huge! My partner had the large bowl; I luckily opted for medium size as it was a lot of food.
Overall was glad we made the trek out to try it out, very delicious bowl of Pho indeed.

Not a place to go for a quiet conversation, but just perfect for a pre-game dinner. The soft-shell crab curry exceeded expectations and the barramundi salad was wonderful. The 'wine guy' and our server were delightful and present, but not intrusive. All in all a great time!

Is this place "trendy" and "Eurasian"?... Sure. Is the food decent, albeit nothing to write home about... "Yes". Did I have a good time here?... "Yes!"
My lovely partner and I stayed in Melbourne recently and heard about "Chin Chin". The first night we tried to get a table, they told us it would be an hour and 15 minute wait, so we decided to come earlier the next night and got a table straight away. Well, when I say table I mean stools at the food preparation section. (Which was a great place to sit to watch all the food preparing action!).
We had a very disarming and friendly waiter who made us feel comfortable and at ease. We saw the "feed me" option, and decided to go for that... Man this place fed us! Sooo much food! All the food yes nice and satisfying, I really loved their caramelised sticky pork dish that was yummy. I also enjoyed their kingfish sashimi, the son in law eggs and their take on peking duck pancakes.
Overall the food was good, the vibe fun, and the service warm and friendly. A must if in Melbourne!

Make sure you get in early because this place is buzzing from the moment it opens. A mix of fusion asian, everything was tasty the value reasonable for all that we ordered.
The kingfish coconut sashimi was excellent, very reminiscent of green thai curry. Their fried chicken was finger licking tasty, their coriander and corn fritters were fun and such a tasty morsels, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Duck was good, but spicy and probably too salty, the soft shell crab was great but again a bit too salty for my liking, and the beef short ribs were simply melt in the mouth.
Too full to fit much else in, we had the dessert platter with tiny things to share, it was interesting little bite fulls of candy, candied chilli popcorn, and other variations of small asian desserts. Came away for $50 a head well satisfied.

Overpriced menu for less serving. We would rather travel to Springvale where you can find good value for your bucks. Service is below standard (no courtesy and does not even smile). Business owners have need to learn to accommodate their patrons with utmost cheerful attitude. Food is not that delicious, there are better out there.

China Bar is one of the few buffets left in Melbourne, with food of any quality. However, it is by no means a cheap eat. If you enjoy pork and prawn, they have a pretty good choice of savoury dishes. If not, you are sure to be disappointed, whilst they're popular options in asian cuisine chicken, beef, fish, and other meat or shellfish are largely absent from the menu. They offer a good range of salads and a huge variety of a cakes, so its not all bad.
However, it doesn't meet the expectations for the price. Another positive is they maintain strict seating times, so you must book, arrive and finish at a set time. This is a vast improvement on the typical experience in eastern suburbs Chinese restaurants, where you wait indefinitely in a breadline at the door, before being seated at a cramped table.

We had lunch here on a Sunday. It's one of the best tasting pho's I've had in Melbourne. Excellent flavours in the stock! Ambience was good. Value was good and on par with other restaurants of the same nature in Melbourne.
The service was good, not great but good (we waited a while for one of our drinks to come, which is fine, but the fact you could see the person who is supposed to be making the drinks standing at the counter doing nothing did not impress me). I am, however, very impressed with their new marketing strategy since changing name in September 2011. It's a typical Vietnamese pho restaurant brought into the future! Well done! We will eat here again.

Good service, good atmosphere and reasonable prices. We tried most of the rice paper roll varieties and they were all fresh and tasty. The spring rolls and beef skewers wrapped in betel leaf were also great.
The only disappointment was the Pho. The broth was lukewarm, there were no chillies and the lemon was cut into tiny chunks rather than wedges. The quality of the broth and the sliced beef was fantastic, so it's a shame about the other points I mentioned. I've read similar complaints from others on urban spoon so hopefully the owners will read this and address the problem.
Our group of 7 got there just after 12 noon and easily secured a large table. By 12.20 it started to get busy and the tables filled quickly. Quite a popular venue.
Overall, an above average dining experience.

Love, love the food here! And ambience is a lot nicer than a lot of the other vietnamese restaurants on Victoria St. I am impressed every time with the food as a recent trip to Vietnam confirmed how authentic the food here is!
The service is always excellent, you can tell how much care the owners put in.
Highly recommend a meal here!

Use to work in a high end restaurant and so most dining experiences are disappointing or expensive. This was neither, so if you can deal with fake huts, a blue led waterfall and fountain then go there! It's great fun, the staff are great and the food is shockingly good.
