My companion and I stumbled by chance onto this new Thai restaurant on Thomas Street, in Dandenong. Actually, the only reason I suggested getting dinner in Dandenong that night (last Saturday) was that I wanted to avoid the Freeway, where there had been a major traffic incident.

We were surprised to see this Thai restaurant there. Although there were no customers inside, we decided to be brave and try it anyway. Luckily we were not disappointed. Actually it exceeded our expectations.

The service was very attentive, without being intrusive. (Yes, it's easier when you're the only couple dining, but still, it was good). We ordered fishcakes to share as an entree, which were very good. I had a main of lamb curry, which was very nice. I ate this with steamed rice, and also roti. The roti turned out to be a single item, and had an oily appearance, but tasted fine.

My companion had some kind of sour steamed fish dish, which she liked. I should mention that although she is not Thai, she is well familiar with authentic Thai food, and has high standards, and she was satsified with the food. The only matter she could deduct points for was that they didn't have a couple of less-common items on their menu that she enjoys eating when she can find them (one was a main, and the other was a dessert involving mango).

At the end of all this we were pretty full, and couldn't face dessert. However, I had a flat white coffee, which was also fine. Made on a Gaggia machine, using Coffee Mio coffee.

The only thing really to complain about was that initially the heating was set to 24 degrees C, which we found much too warm considering we were dressed for the cold night. However, at the time of placing our order we asked if it could be turned down, and the adjusted setting of 20 degrees C was just nice.

Came here 12 months ago and had an excellent risotto. New chef and just had one of the worst I've ever tasted. Cheap and Nasty cuts of chicken, poorly presented and over priced. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Wonderful food and service. Perfect winter meals with fireplace and view of the bay. Attentive but unobtrusive service. Somewhere special without the extra special price. The duck is to die for, although the new risotto menu should be experienced. And don't forget the cheese platter with a lovely frecinet Pinot.

I was not a fan of this place.

Our group was placed in the back corner, with poor lighting. The rest of the restaurant was illuminated, whilst we were in very dim lighting. It was that dim we couldn't even see the colour of our food.

We were also told they had no gyros meat. How on earth does a Greek Restaurant not have gyros meat! If we had known there was no gyros meat, we wouldn't have eaten there.

They forgot one of our platters, and we had to wait 20 minutes for it to come out, by then nobody wanted any. We were told it was only going to be 5 minutes.

Service was also poor. The food is extremely overpriced, with little value.
We will never return to this restaurant, next time we will go somewhere else, which we know has amazing Greek food and service.

My wife and I took some friends from Qld out for breakie last Saturday morning, to the Pavilion Cafe, it hadn't opened at 9.00am the so called chef arrived late, the staff weren't interested in service the food was less than good, burnt toast, burnt bacon, eggs not good in all spent over $100.00 for five people, Not impressed, very disappointed. I hope some management gets to read this and takes some notice because the location is great but the service terrible.

Went to Mosq with some friends as I love the whole Moroccan theme after visiting the country a few years ago. Although the decor was gorgeous, that is pretty much where the pleasant experience stopped for us. I love tapas menus but found little to love about this one. The dips were plain awful, the kofte was bland and tasted like it had been made a week ago and the sweet corn fritters tasted like flour with some corn in it.

The cocktails we had were lovely but took a long time to arrive. One of the wait staff was very attentive and friendly, the other was bordering on rude.

Overall it was a fairly average experience and I won't be in any rush to go back.

Simply the best Lebanese food my wife and I had since we came to melbourne 4 years ago. Great food, friendly staff, nice ambience and if you get a cedar banquet you will not be disappointed. We will come back for sure.

We have been to Sugarcane at least five times in the past few months and it is always consistently good. The food is authentic, fresh, tasty and beautifully presented and the service is superb. Family owned and run, it's become a real favourite now that we have moved into this area. Bookings are generally easy to get but as it gets more popular, it might be best to book ahead.

I was hoping for authentic from Ganache. Master chocolatier check. Smart fitout check. Delicious chocolates check but once I'm seated, I had to endure poor coffee and service from a crew? Disappointing.

One of the best Thai restaurants I've been to. Slightly pricey but great for special occasions. Have not yet found a place that makes a better Pad Thai that's just like the recipes in Thailand.

We tried this much raved about restaurant last night and the food was amazing. The Only thing that was extremely disappointing was the over zealous service. I was still eating my Tom yum entree when the mains were delivered and the table was being cleared and reset while we still looking over the bill.

Other than this the food was the best Thai we have had in this area, the decor was clean and upmarket, air con would have been a bonus but the food is well worth the visit.

We'll definitely be back but won't be pushed out the door next time.

Mostly your run of the mill Thai food, though with some items on the menu that you don’t see elsewhere. But all the meals were excellent. Price is very reasonable, especially if you BYO wine as this is generally the killer for the back pocket. The up side of “ambience” is that the decor is tastefully done.

The down side appears to be that, because the food is so good, it appears to be almost always crowded and that makes it very noisy. Possibly the removal of one table (preferably the one we were next to the other night) may help. I guess you can’t blame the restaurant people for the noise from the partons. But, if you can turn down your hearing aid, it’s well worth the effort to dine there.

The fish cakes are just fabulous, the texture is spongy and firm with blended fish, green beans, red curry paste and lime leaf the flavours are punchy and work well.

All the dishes are served on different colourful plates with fresh salads and great dipping sauces, we are all double dipping without any shame! They are so delicious!

The chicken satay is some seriously generous skewered thigh fillet, it’s a man size satay topped with a fantastic satay sauce, I once bought a jar of satay sauce and all it tasted of was vinegar and sucked! This was definitely homemade and so good we made sure we got an extra serve with the lovely roti bread.

This week my friends and I gathered for our annual Christmas dinner. 2 girls ordered "Filet Mignon Steaks". This turned out to be a Big Mistake. I was so cremated that she couldn't even cut through it, and it was sent back. The other was so off that putting a piece up to your nose was enough to kill you.

The senior staff was called over and declared he was not familiar with the dish to comment. 3 of us told him that the meat was absolutely off and if they served any more they would have a Rest. of very sick people.

Neither girl touched their side orders either with the steaks, however, we were charged for them. 1 girl re-ordered and we were told it would be about a 10 minutes wait. 45 minutes later she received her replacement meal. The poor girl whose meal was totally off was so repulsed by the taste in her mouth, plus the whole experience, she chose to sit and only sip water for the rest of the night.

We decided not to have dessert or coffee and when leaving they then proceeded to give us someone elses bill, which as you can imagine made our day. We wanted to use a discount voucher for the 3 meals that were eaten, and that was rejected by the senior staff and we were told to save it for next time. Believe us, there won't be a next time. Be warned friends, it stuffed our Christmas get-to-gether well and truly.

This place used to be Oriental Dragon Chinese restaurant (oh, how I miss their salt and pepper squid!), but Greenie Thai has proved a worthwhile replacement. The space has been renovated to give it a cleaner, more modern feel.

The food is good and what you would expect of your typical Thai restaurant in Australia. We enjoyed chicken satay sticks and battered prawns for entree, followed by a red curry of prawns and vegetables and a calamari and vegetable stir fry accompanied by coconut rice. Interestingly, the rice comes in individual serves, which is good. They have a reasonable range of beers and wines and a good range of desserts.

We loved the coconut icecream and the sticky rice banana dumpling. At $122 for all this, including four drinks, I think it represents pretty good value. By the way, children are welcome and the food is not overly spiced with chilli so children should be able to enjoy it as much as the adults. Service is also good so we'll definitely be back.
