Have been wanting to go to this restaurant for ages and finally did recently. But oh what a disappointment. The nachos was gluggy and cold and just horrible. The main courses were warm/tepid by the time they got to us. My main course was very floury and bland. This place seems to be hugely popular but given the lacklustre service and the very average meals, not sure what all the fuss is about. Perhaps, it was just a bad/off night.

A friend and I ate at Panchos Mexican Cantina this evening. We ordered the Los Cabos banquet for two. The first course was fine, but during serving of the second course, the restaurant made an error and brought two plates and two small salad bowls (one of myself and one for my friend, placed directly in front of each of us).
After commencing our plates, the waitress came and said that an error had been made and asked for one of us to give back our plate and bowl as the course was meant to be shared (I will add that we had not been given side plates). After much confusion and some debate, I gave my plate and bowl (which had both been commenced on) back and they were taken away, after some time, I went to the Manageress and complained that despite the plate and bowl being taken away, no side plates for the sharing of the remaining plate had been brought. These were then offered.
At no time was an apology offered. And nothing was said when we paid the bill, nor any recompense for the confusion (and humiliation, as certainly other tables were very aware of our food being taken) offered. I can only hope that the food that was taken from our table was not recycled and returned to some other customer, as I can see no reason why, having served it (even in error), and it having been commenced to be eaten, it was not just left for us to eat.

Shared menu 4 with a couple of mates. The food was great, the drinks weren't too pricey. It was all in all an excellent night.

Located between the suburban and industrial areas of Sunshine North is this little cafe. Specialising in Latin American Food they serve both sweet and savoury items in the small shop. It's nothing special to look at inside but the food is cheap and incredibly good. I tried the Chorizo and Cheese Empanada which had a nice crispy pastry but the filling wasn't great (rubbery cheese and crumbled Chorizo that wasn't brown enough for me). But the Beef Sandwich I had was Amazing!
A bread roll with thin slices of perfectly tender cooked beef, cheese, mayo, tomato, green beans and green chilli. It was so very, very good. For dessert I had the Tres De Leche Pastry Horn. Again really good. Most items were priced between $2-$8 so great value. Certainly worth a special trip even if you don't live in the area.

I'd been hunting down authentic style Mexican food (read: not smothered in tomato salsa and cheese) for awhile that was in my budget. I'm pretty stoked to have found Los Amates. The simplest dishes were well executed from entree quesadillas to nachos (with black beans mmmm).
I had to try to mole sauce, a house speciality. It was a unique flavour, which I'm not sure I liked, but didn't regret trying. Favourites with our table were Enchiladas de Pollo and Camarones Al guajillo.
The intro to the menu states that they have tried to maintain authentic flavours but toned down the spice to meet Australian tastes. I was a bit disappointed that my meal wasn't spicer, one aspect of Mexican food that I really look forward to and enjoy.
Service was a bit all over the place, but always friendly. I think I'll return - it was good value, but it doesn't match up food-wise with the slightly pricier genuine Mexican places around town.

Wow! The first thing that grabbed me about Senoritas was the Mexican 'Day of the Dead" theme - it is edgy and original with some fantastic pieces from the mannequin in the entry foyer to the artwork adorning the walls. The lighting compliments the theme nicely and is dimly lit and moody.
My hubby and I got adventurous and started off with some signature tequila cocktails, don't worry if you don't know much about tequila you are about to learn as our waitress was only too happy to explain different tequila's and give us her recommendations.
If you are expecting a menu like Taco Bills then don't bother as this menu is authentic Mexican and introduced us to dishes we had never heard of before yet really enjoyed none the less. I can recommend the Mole Poblano chicken and the Trevally taco. Make sure you leave room for dessert, the Bunuelos (sweet tortilla) was divine.
The staff were young, upbeat and very happy to talk about the food and beverage. I must say it was quite loud in there as it is a small room that was packed out. It is definitely a great place to dress up with the girls and have a night out although would suit anyone who wanted a new dining experience in Melbourne. We will definitely be back!

Friends gave awesome raps about this little restaurant called Mamasita, so being the curious food piglets we are, we decided to pay Mamasita a visit. Upon arrival I was surprised to see the massive queue of revelers, to be completely honest it turned me off the place a little – Being the typical hungry impatient Sydney-siders. I’m glad we decided to hang around and was greeted by super friendly host who informed us about the 30 minutes wait. Just before we were seated, we decided to smash down two fancy cocktails – Mojito and Margarita with Mexican street style Corn. (MMM super delish!)

Lovely and authentic Mexican food. We didn't have much of a wait on a Thursday night at the first seating. The sangria and vegetarian combination platter were top notch and I can't wait to go back! If your food doesn't come with their mole sauce, order a small bowl on the side to eat with some corn chips. It's so delicious!

Went here for dinner and was very disappointed. We ordered nachos and was very overpriced for what you get and not good quality. Very cramped in the restaurant with bad lighting. A lot better places to get mexican food with a even better price tag.

Gorgeous crispy tortilla cigars! tightly rolled up around a filling of black bean pilled on top with avocado, cheese, salsa, salad and lime. The side salad is crunchy, fruity and nutty with pimentos, raisons and what looks like dried beetroot chards, so lovely!.

We made a booking for 10 people at 8pm, arrived 5 minutes earlier, they made us wait for 15 minutes to set up a table. We have requested the table near the bay views, but they provided near the kitchen, even though when we mentioned our preference during the booking (a week ago).
The food was disappointing, no flavour at all. We ordered scallops with cauliflower puree for entree, the scallops were overcooked and the color was dark brown. Prawns for mains, don't bother trying this dish.
Livebait another Docklands nonsense. I will never go back.
