We ate here purely because we hadn't eaten here before. The service was efficient and prompt. The meals were a good size and very tasty. It lacks a little bit in ambience and on this friday night was only half full. It is BYO only so don’t forget beer or wine if you would like some with dinner. The prices are reasonable and you get what you pay for.
We went to this restaurant based on the feedback given here. The food was old, the potato was old and smelled, the chicken was a brilliant red with no flavour. Very disappointing. Everything had sugar in it, the salad, the raita, the chicken. The results were not pretty for the family next day, with everyone fell ill.
The staff here are so lovely, they don't pounce on you, but they take your order promptly, food was excellent, chicken korma, a favourite of mine, naan and raita very good too. We were out for our Wedding Anniversary and were treated to a surprise complimentry homemade icecream. This restaurant may not look much from outside, but do go in and try it out. Fantastic, we will be back!
I have been to many Indian restaurants - including in other states. But my local Indian restaurant Mehek is the best for taste and cost. I've lost count of how many times I've been to Mehek. The owner always remembers his customers and visits you to make sure you have a great dining experience.
The food is excellent and great value. I have recommended Mehek to my friends who now go regularly and go regularly myself. It's great to have such wonderful restaurants in the suburbs so we can enjoy going out often without having to drive all the way to the city. I would like some music though.
My first visit to this restaurant, it was recommended by friends. I enjoyed the friendly service and professionalism off the staff, especially liked the owner/chef coming out to enquire about our experience and meals. The ambience was O.K. exactly was what expected a bit of a blend of old and new, typical suburban Indian restaurant. Lacked some music when we got here, they put some music on 2/3 of the way through our meal it made the experience that little bit better.
The food was amazing, great fresh ingredients, and aromas that made the mouth water. I had the $30 banquet. The entree was tandoor chicken, the meat was succulent and the blend on spices wonderful. For the mains we had chicken curry (like butter chicken) this had a rich smooth sauce and tender chicken pieces. Also a lamb Rogan Josh (Divine, nothing more to say) and Kofta's. And for dessert Mango Ice-cream the perfect end to the perfect meal.
This restaurant is 65.2 Km round trip from my home, but for the best Indian meal that we have ever had I’m sure we will becoming back again and again. This is a place I will not keep a secret.
Though the decor is a little drab, the food, service and value for dollar are terrific. Something for every palate and the chef is happy to regulate the amount of fire in your meal.
We loved the tandoori platter, garlic chilli chicken, goat curry (mehek special), and lamb vindaloo. Also enjoyed a funky fish curry in coconut cream. Entrees and desserts were amazing too (the deep fried cottage cheese things with rose water syrup, and pistachio ice-cream, were stunning). Kabir, the chef and proprieter, came out for a chat - very passionate and proud of what he does. This place is highly, highly recommended.
I had the best restaurant experience with my family and being an Indian I really loved the homecooked feeling of the food served and the ambience was perfect and we are looking to many more meals there.
