The food at Malaysia Garden Restaurant is straightforward and very tasty—rich flavours covering the best of Malay, Nyonya and even Indian-Malaysian gastronomic zone. Large servings at low prices make this humble restaurant popular. The family style ambience also makes it a fun place to dine in for large groups.

My family have been going to Malaysian Gardens for years. You wouldn't go there for ambience and the service varies but the food is always excellent and great value in my opinion. I haven't found a better restaurant of it's type in Melbourne.

If you make a phone order, make sure you check the bags thoroughly, they're terrible on the phone. We had to make three trips for them to get a roti channai right. Check your bill too.

Been here several times over the years, it's true this place has its ups and downs. Staff can be rather abrupt. Prices have gone up a little. Most of the dishes are really scrumptious and authentic. The char kway teow is delish with cockle, lobak is good, claypot tofu is average, salt and pepper dishes aren't overseasoned and are crispy. Only had the ice kachang (shaved ice concoction) here once as usually too full for sweets but it was quite tasty.
We always try to book a table together with an order of the specialty Malaysia Garden chilli fish. Noticed the quality has gone down a bit the last 2 times, sauce quantity is now inadequate, rendering the fish too dry. Last time the fish didn't taste overly fresh but the dish was still acceptable. Hope it improves as it's our fav dish from here.
Not much ambience, it's a family restaurant. Even after the renovation, the deco is still dated. But hey, who cares, give it a try and go for the food. Recommend booking as it gets very busy. Off street parking only.

Decent food, large servings, good value for money. The food didn't take too long to arrive. The only down side was the snappy waitress we got on Sunday night.

Have been eating here for over 15 years. It has its ups and downs, but the food is always fantastic. We have moved suburbs and yet we still keep coming here. Gado Gado, Roti Chanai, Beef Randang, S&S squid, Spicy ginger pork, cha kua tuo all brilliant. Highly Recommend.

Food is divine. Order the spicy ginger chicken boneless (it's not really not that spicy or that gingery either) which is delicious in its light batter and mouthwatering sauce and also try the salt and pepper squid. mmm. I get my husband to pick it up on his way home from Rosebud and we live in Pascoe Vale. Have found nothing like it.

The fried kuay tiao is the best I have tasted in Australia so far. They have cockle!
Gado-gado is also nice. Reasonable price and will definitely go back again.

Food comes out very fast, is very tasty. However, place looks a little dodgy on the decor but definitely makes up with the food, also very reasonably priced.

The place is basic in its ambience, but the staff are helpful, well groomed in traditional thai dresses and the food is delicious! Excellent value for money. View above Clayton, especially in the evening is quite lovely. Friendly service. Been twice and would certainly go again. Love the stir fried rice noodles with shrimps, roast port, egg, chilli and bean shoots. Also must try the Ice Kacang for dessert. mmmm.

Good food at a great price looking over Clayton in all its glory. What more could you want?
