Livingroom Restaurant & Cafe provides high quality modern European style food including a tapas style menu which accompanies the main menu. Livingroom offers a well structured wine list with 12 frequently changing wines by the glass. The restaurant is housed in a light and very elegant building of the 1900's era with antique furniture completing a very relaxed and comfortable ambience. The north facing aspect on a quiet street ensures great al fresco dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Function options are available for up to 70 people.

A lively, comfortable restaurant with easy parking and plenty of large windows which give the place an "open" feeling. The food was excellent and despite various previous reviewer's comments, we found the service to be very good. The water kept flowing, the bread was fresh and our food orders arrived correctly and in perfect unison. We will certainly return.

This restaurant was recommended by some good friends and I must say we were rather impressed as it is quite hidden from the main road. The staff are friendly and quite helpful and accommodating as our friend (who had spoken to the chef earlier last week) had some rather difficult dietry requirements. The chef prepared a special chicken dish for my friend and my husband and I had the rack of lamb which was truly heavenly! Although its not BYO on weekends (inc friday) we had a lovely red wine on recommendation which didn't break the bank. Keep up the good work.

Disappointing dinner. Had heard about Livingroom and was impressed with the style and the look of the place. Inside a cheery welcome but then the long wait began. We had to call a waitress to get a drink and then after over 30 minutes we had to ask for a menu.

Entree was nicely presented but bland. Nothing special. Then another long wait for the main course. We had arrived at 7.30 and by 9.30 we still did not have our mains. We gave up on desserts. We would have been there until midnight! We left thinking, "Why would you go to so much trouble to set up a stylish restaurant to then provide such poor service and food"

Top Marks! Wonderful restaurant!

Its refreshing to actually have elbow space on the table and especially between tables. The food was faultless (the sirloin tender and perfectly seasoned, the sauce rich and full flavoured). Portion sizes were generous (especially the sides) and the prices and wine list were very reasonable. Service was excellent and our waiter knew the food and the wine list.

I think we have found one of melbournes suburban treasures.

Tucked away in a side street, this restaurant offers a spacious, uncrowded dining area, a nice change from the elbow-to-elbow conditions sometimes encountered. The menu offered a well-balanced range of choices, and the chicken breast and sirloin dishes we had were great (call us conservative if you like!), as were the desserts! The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. No BYO on Saturday night, but we were told this is possible on weeknights.

Had a fantastic meal, the fricando [veal and wild mushroom] was delicious. Nice to finally go to restaurant and have something out of the ordinary. Dessert was to die for, Mellow Yellow souffle. Staff were on the ball had good knowledge in the food they're selling. Place had a nice feel too it, think a fire place would do wonders to cosy it up. Will definitely be returning.

After reading a review on this restaurant I was really looking forward to the experience. The menu was extensive and I think this added to the wait. Too many specials...it was confusing to listen to all the marinades, sauces etc. I just wanted to hear about good clean food. That is full of flavour and taste.

Our table had a bottle of wine but were weren't asked if we would like another??We had to ask for water. We had to ask for bread...Our order didn't come out fully as the potato mash was missed...so we waited for this. The desserts were fantastic. The mellow Yellow souffle was bliss! Reasonably priced menu but too big.

Our Sunday brunch was outstanding and it was difficult to choose from the excellent menu. Pity we live in Sydney otherwise we'd be there regularly to work our way through that very appetising menu.
