I went to the Liquid bar and had an indifferent feeling about the night. Walking along New Quay at 5.40 pm on a tuesday night all the lights were off and the closed sign on the door, even though their website says open 11 am till late. Anyway, after walking further and calling them, finding out they were open and going back we were welcomed by the Maitre D' who was extremley friendly. We went in as it was tuesday and they have 50% off all Tapas on tuesday.
First negative was that it was all very cramped. We started with the grilled bread with Olive Oil, lovely, was warm and fresh. Saganaki was different but what ruined it was the week old Rocket that was limp. Calamari was ok, Croquettes were very strange, as if someone had made a soup, thickened it with cornflour and made deep fried balls out of it. Pork Belly was pretty tasteless, Chicken Drumettes were more like wingettes. The Chorizo and the Sweet Pork were lovely though.
We were going to stay for dessert but decided not to risk it as we weren't impressed by the other food. I understand that we went on a cheap night but that shouldn't mean that the quality is cheap.

I have dined at this restaurant now 9 or 10 times. The quality and quantities are consistently great. The service is friendly and prompt, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone eating in docklands. Make a booking because it does get busy.

Fairly average restaurant. I took my boyfriend here for his bday as he wanted somewhere he could have a steak but also somewhere I could eat as I'm a vegetarian. Turned up at booking time and the waiter had no record of our booking, he spoke to the Manager and we got a table for 2 sorted. We ordered bread and persian fetta for a starter which was delicious.
My vege lasagna as a main was pretty average but better than others I have had. No side salad which was disappointing. My boyfriend said his steak was just okay. It is an average restaurant which is quite pricey and the atmosphere isn't that great. I wouldn't go back.

A group of friends and I went to this place last night after hearing some awesome reviews about it, only to be disappointed! One of us ordered the roast pork, which turned out to be 90% fatty and had way too much onions in there. The roast chicken was bland and the caesar salad just didn't have any taste! But the worst bit came at the end when we ordered 3 plates of churros for dessert, only to have them served literally about 2 minutes after we'd ordered and Uundercooked!
They were all still wet and cold on the inside! So we called one of the waiters, who rudely told us that "this is how churros are" and that they couldn't cook them any more or else they would burn. And then he walked off whilst we were still speaking! We were so angry. So we called another one of the waiters who actually tasted the churros in front of us and agreed that they were undercooked and so did not make us pay for them.
The staff on the other hand, refused to make eye contact with us for the rest of the night and only interacted with us when he rudely said "the churros aren't on the bill" whilst literally throwing the bill on our table. Horribly disappointed. I will be telling everyone I know to not go to this restaurant!

Welcomed by a waiter as I entered Liquid I felt immediately like a valued customer. The place was bustling with people who all seemed to be very happy with their meals and the atmosphere in the place and when I ordered (which didn't take long) the food arrived fresh and extremely well prepared. With a wine list which was selected to suit the food it was obvious that Liquid made a considerable effort in quality and detail. Price wise it was on par with many of the eateries around docklands but with such large portions, it is well worth the price. Highly recommended, definitely go back again!!!

The food I found to be about right price wise, although tapas I find always ends up a bit more than a regular main (probably because you tend to over-order!). While the restaurant was nice, the only down side was the ambience. The lighting was good, and music but the tables were about 20cm too wide and you feel a bit distant from your dinner date, admittedly when ordering about 5 tapas dishes you do need the space though! The Zuchinni fritters, meatballs and saffron rice balls were great.
The dish I didn't enjoy was the pork, I am not a fan of the pork belly cut, it is too fatty and with the cauliflower sauce on top it also was more like a bland german dish, so it certainly lacked the taste of the other dishes. Service wise, the waiter was older, and was a fantastically attentive and polite waiter. He was the standout of the evening, not intruding at all but attentive with re-filling water and clearing food, he was most gracious.

This was a little pricey but well worth it, most enjoyable meal we had in Melbourne. Best garlic bread of our lives. The zuchini fritters from the tapas menu were divine as were the cutlets. Highly recommend the tapas dishes. Presentation was superb and the food very eatable. For dessert the bombalska well what can I say this was YUMMY but was still too big even for two piglets like us (we wish we left more room). Highly recommend this place, great food, fantastic views and good wait staff.

I went to the restaurant twice, and on both occasions encountered extremely poor service. The staff were very inattentive, and on each occasion, I needed to stand up and approach the staff to order or request food which had been forgotten. Although the food was adequate, it was very overpriced for what it was, it was not worth the aggravation. Only go to this restaurant if you have nerves of steel.

The tapas was better than any I had in Spain (especially the lamb empanadas) and the paella was outstanding. The service was friendly and the meals are well priced for the quality of the food. I will definitely be dining here again frequently.
