We had just landed into Melbourne and decided to head out for dinner with the family. With my wife being indian our first choice was indian and the reviews for this restaurant appeared to be pretty good.

On the way out to this restaurant from our hotel from Southbank we passed about 3 strip joints and started to get just a little concerned about where we were headed. When we arrived we found a quiet little place, pleasantly decorated and warm service.

We had a nice evening and the food was ok. The rice was supposedly basmati but we knew it really to be simple long grain rice. The naan bread was great and butter chicken was average. Not sure if we'd make the effort to go back there again.

I found this restaurant randomly while down from Sydney a few years ago, and now make a habit of returning every time I'm south of the border. Truly one of the best Indian restaurants I know, fantastic food (you Must try the tandoori platter!) lovely staff and very warm on those winter nights.

Quick to take our orders and bring out papadums and sauces to snack on while we waited, but at the same time a luxurious, "no rush" kind of feel to the place.
Will be back next time I'm in town for sure!

We are repeat customers and found ourselves once again very happy with the food and service. Tried new special Goat cheese bread it was amazing. Le Taj is well worth a visit.

Being locals we normally dine at Le Taj on a weekly basis. Having lived in India for close to 3 years, to be able to taste genuine and succulent indian cuisine in our own neighbourhood is outstanding. I have no hesitation in recommending Le Taj, if you want a good night out, value for money, and non-fatty indian modern cuisine.

Used to be a regular customer of Le Taj until now. I ordered some takeaway dinner and in my vegetarian curry there were 2 big pieces of meat, disgusting and very disappointing. They refunded my money but I won't be dining in or ordering takeaway from here again.
