Our chef, Nush, brings to Melbourne for the first time the magic of raw food, free from animal product & processed grain ingredients. Using a variety of unique preparation techniques, the dishes on Le Cru’s menus are dehydrated or heated below 45° C to preserve optimum nutrition & health.

As a long time vegan eating about 80% raw for a few years, I like to think I know my stuff when it comes to gourmet raw vegan cuisine. I have had the pleasure of eating at some of the best raw food restaurants in the world in places such as NYC and LA, and I must say that Le Cru holds its own very well. I absolutely love their smoothies and juices, and the "burger" and nori wraps are to die for.

I am delighted that Melbourne now has its own raw restaurant, especially one of this calibre. Their menu is very creative and, it's easy to see that a great deal of thought has gone into the design and preparation of each dish. For those of you who picture smelly hippies eating bland algae and tofu, when you hear "vegan" think again. The raw vegan food on offer at Le Cru is all about clean, highly nutritious, fresh, flavoursome dishes, all served without a single dreadlock or patchouli candle in sight, and none of the "greener than thou" attitude either. Well done!

The food was delicious. We had the 'sushi' and the 'pizza' slice, which were both great. It blew us away to see such creativity applied to these so called conventional dishes.

Also, the desserts were outstanding, especially the ice cream that they make themselves. There was a pretty nice organic wine list too. I'll definitely be going back, despite my meat-eating tendencies, taking my girlfriend along to impress her!

Three of us experienced different dishes. I prepare raw food myself so I am fussy.
The vegetable spaghetti dish and vegetable lasagne were excellent. The pumpkin burger a little dry according to my daughter but rest of the dish comprised complimentary textures and tastes that well and truly made up for it. The desserts, particularly the lemon tart, my favourite, were also very special. Highly recommened.

A great take on plant based cuisine. The food was quite good, especially the beetroot ravioli. Nice range of non alcoholic mocktails and very lovely ambience. Will be returning.

Le Cru offers a raw, organic, plant based restaurant, bar and function experience.
Starters and mains are reasonably priced at $4 to $15 and include the kind of food that most people would recognise from a non raw restaurant, soup, dips and crackers, salad, pizza, burgers, and lasagna.

We had some food that we thought was exceptional and some was just nice. Even my carnivore friend thought so. There is a great wine list and lovely desserts etc.
Might just be the only Raw Vegan restaurant in Melbourne so well worth a try.
