This is my local and suffered from a good menu that did not change for years. New owners have allowed the chief to push a few boundaries, with out scarring the regulars (of which there are many). My last meal here was the best yet and was a pleasure to eat, added with the ever friendly waiting staff. The winelist could be a little more adventurous.

A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere is cosy on a cold Melbourne day and the staff and management all friendly and attentive. Visiting from Sydney last weekend, we enjoyed a great family lunch that ambled along until after 5 pm! And delightfully we weren't the last to leave and were certainly never rushed along. The food is dynamic and the ingredients first rate. Smoked trout and spanner crab entree was delicious as were the proscuitto with pear entree and the rare tuna with wasabi.

All 8 in our party enjoyed their meals. My duck main was good, not brilliant, but overall a terrific experience. Wine list is extensive and reasonable. The desserts looked delicious. Give it a try. We can't wait, while away another Sunday there (or any day for that matter)!
