This is a monthly regular for me. The laksa is rich and delicious, the seafood tasty, the curries spicy and the service is fast. The serves are excellent value. There is nearly always a line for a table and the arcade does look cheap, but its worth it.
Definitely try the roti chicken rolls for entree, they are a staple in my diet!
Best Laksa so far, had not seen such a generous serve of prawns and chicken in my time here. Nothing compared to the ones in Katong, Singapore, but still one of the better ones here in Melbourne yet.
I swear by this place! The seafood laksa here is one of the best I've had. So good, it's the only thing I have! Warning, the place looks a little seedy and is located in the middle of a dodgy looking arcade. However, it's definitely the food you come here for and nothing else. Be prepared for a wait, easily 30 minutes whether it be weeknight or weekend but it's worth it.
Once inside, everything is basic from seats to service. The manager/possible owner is a jovial type, even with the constant hustle and bustle. This place is guaranteed great value for money. No wonder it's made the Cheap Eats Guide years over!
Busy, busy, busy! Of course I had to have Laksa on my first visit and wasn't disappointed, my friends shared some curry which was also very good. This is just a quick eat stop or great takeaway because it is very simple inside. BYO beer was good, a table of six booking was easily accommodated and food was fast on the table.
Generally, pretty consistent Malaysian hawker style food served simply, and with good value for money. They do have their bad days, when dishes don't seem right, but overall, it's more good then bad. I frequent the place, and there is always a long queue especially dinner time. The taste is pretty authentic to what you do get on the streets in Malaysia, which doesn't mean it is busting with extraordinary flavors, or anything out of the ordinary, but what is served is authentic, tasty and reminds me of home.
One of the worst Laksa I have ever had. Good for those who like coconut soup with little or no Laksa taste. Tried the Fried kuay teow also, again, one of the worst I have ever had. Serves are big so for the price, its cheap. Won't be going there again, you can get better laksa anywhere else in the city.
Don't expect 5 star, this place is a little on the dingy side but clean and always very busy. Highly recommend that you book. The food, however, is great value with big serves and flavours are amazing. I find it hard to go past the seafood laksa but the menu is extensive with many yummy things to choose.
Great food and service. The crowds milling around outside detract from the experience somewhat when you're actually inside eating though. This was more expensive than I remember from previous visits, but the price wasn't outrageous.
