With so much choice of great food in Melbourne, you can make sure you give this restaurant a miss.

Wine by the glass was not fit for cooking. Took 30 minutes until the simple shared entree was flopped on the table. Mains were unappealing and poorly presented. Terrible value for money compared to other Greek restaurants. Never asked if we needed anything during the meal (no offer of more wine, desserts, coffee...). Had to chase a waiter to get the bill.

Every aspect of the experience was disappointing.

I went here with my family one Friday lunch time for a late lunch so it was quite quiet. The service was excellent and friendly. We had the lunch Meze which was delicious and more than enough food to go around. Would definitely recommend and will be going again next time we fancy a greek meal.

The worse $30 I have ever spent. Each main dish costs about $25-30 yet the portions would make any Greek cry. $24 can only buy you small 4 chicken skewers or 2 lamb skewers (both dry and overcooked). $15 can buy you 1 15cm thin octopus leg. No sides. Each side costs $8 upwards. My friends and I all left hungry. I am bewildered how they were recommended in the good food guide. The wait staff appeared judgmental and wasn't aware if we even had all our food out and were very quick to take our food away. The food took well over an hour to come out.

Went there when it was a quiet night, not sure how it will be on a busy night, but my experience had been very pleasant.

We ordered the mezze platters, so much food and sooo good! It came up to about $45ish per person for the mezze, but had plenty of food to go around! (Just when you thought, ok I'm full now, another plate comes out from the kitchen). I practically had to roll home after that. Dips, saganaki, octopus were to die for!

Some of us ordered mains instead of mezze, and that was actually quite disappointing in terms of taste when compared to mezze. If you're a first timer on Greek cuisine (like I am), I highly recommend the mezze, and stay away from the mains. Take note though that mezze does come out in stages, not all at once, as it is meant to be enjoyed and savoured slowly. Not good if you're in a rush, but for a relaxed pampering evening, this place is it!

Worst greek food we have ever tasted. Very overpriced, we ordered meatballs and lamb skewers. Both were burnt black, lamb was tough and stringy, obviously low grade meat. Small dish of potatoes $12.50! nothing comes with the dish, you have to order salad as extra. Asked for a small bowl of yoghurt to help eat the burnt meatballs, was given a small bowl of mayonnaise! Have to say its the worst meal we have ever had in Melbourne, seating was abominable, felt like a sardine, I had more space when I was serving as a submariner in the Navy.

My Greek friend recommended here over other Greek places. Ambience ok, def recommend booking as it was busy on the weeknight we went. Service was a little slow but nice waiting staff. Chose a la carte as I've heard the banquet serves are small and takes ages to come out.

Food was really nice, my teenager's first proper Greek meal at a restaurant and still raves about it. The dips were outstanding, bread was ok. We fought over the last bit of entree saganaki lol mains octopus and calamari were really tasty, although more pieces would have been better. Crisp and crunchy, non of that soggy oily rubbish. The only thing our palates didn't fully appreciate was the sausage (spetzofay). My friend told me beforehand it's an acquired taste. Meat skewers were tasty, but a tad dry. The village salad surpasses any other Greek or village salad we've eaten elsewhere.

Had a going away lunch there today. Despite pre ordering the lunch banquets, the food took nearly 2 hours to come out. When it did come out, it was in a drip feed manner, 1 dish at a time. An example of the poor value was that for a table of 9 we only got 2 bowls of greek salad and 2 plates of roasted potatoes.

The food itself was ok but definitely not worth the wait. I would definitely not recommend anyone choosing the lunchtime banquet. There was no explanation for the slow pace of the food by the wait staff so I guess this is the norm. I'll definitely not come back to this place.

Although cooked well, the serves here are small for the price and not unique. Two of us went in for dinner and were advised that one main and a salad or vegetable dish would be plenty for two to share. We ordered the main octopus and a salad along with an appetiser. The octopus was simply one leg. Not the large share plate we expected to fill us up.

Sadly, the bread was forgetten also and had to be asked for. After we mentioned that we were disapppointed by the size of our dish (compared to the description we were given by wait staff), we were ignored for the remainder of the evening and had to go to the bar to get our bill and pay.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for a la carte, only order the banquets. There are much nicer and generous Greek restaurants on Lonsdale St, only three blocks away.

Family group of four for lunch, two from Qld. Three are vegetarians and banquet was re-arranged with no fuss to cater for this with extra dishes for the carnivore. Pleasant service of delicious food. Quantities were generous and the cost reasonable.

Heard about this restaurant thru friends, so I thought I'll take a few of mine for a birthday dinner. What a night we had. We ordered the 12 course meze banquet, with delicious dips and homemade dolmades followed by the grilled cheese and tender octopus to follow, truly to die for. Then we had a mix of meats with seafood and variety of vegetable dishes finished off with a fresh crisp lemon village salad.

Let me tell you, with the amount of food that were all served in sharing style dishes, no wonder that meditteranean countries that eat food as fresh and flavoursome as we experienced here have a long life expectancy. Dessert was a filled puff pastry with an orange zest flavoured custard, knocked my socks off.

Although the restaurant was at capacity our waiters looked after us impeccably. Made us sing Happy B'day with everyone else in the restaurant joining in, talk about being embarrassed. Recommend it to anypne. Thanks Kri Kri.
