Surprisingly Disappointing. Thank goodness we went there on a voucher deal. First few courses were served altogether, then the wait grew out 40 minutes between courses as our poor chef was cooking for 5 sets of other guests all at once. Very smokey from food fumes, perhaps, the big extractor fans are for aesthetics only.
Our drinks took 15 minutes each time from ordering, if you could find a scarce waiter. We spoke to 2 other couples who will never return either, one on a voucher, but, unfortunately, the other were there on their wedding anniversary, who ended up paying over $500 for a dinner for 2, only to be bitterly disappointed. Poor Kobe Jones, does he not have a PR rep looking for feedback? We're regular Japanese diners, our advice, stick to South Yarra or Brighton Teppanyaki.

I took my Husband there for his Birthday (costing $155.00 each) expecting something special. No it was not. The wine was overpriced the courses were small. The service was so so. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Do not bother, the service was appalling, the drink prices are a rip off, the food served whilst tasty did not really excite. In fact I would suggest there are many better value establishments to eat at.
Do it be taken in by any of the coupon deals offered by this business. We felt we did not receive the value as promised by the so called deal. Lastly, the staff, who, offered no service, could not even work out why there was no tip added to the bill instead they seemed confused with the whole process at best.
In a few words... Give Kobe Jones a miss.

First you have the wrong adress for this restaurant on you site, its moved to the World trade centre.
Just wanted to say had not been there for a while but found it last Saturday night. The new format was great chose to have the teppanyaki.
Despite some loud mornon the table with his mates that thought he knew everything about everything (get them some times; we had a very pleasent meal in fact great.
I am writing becasue I find it interesting how trestuarants dela wityh those situations and recover. In this case that customer was not going to be happy no matter what they did and they tried.
For what it is worth in my mouth, the food was terrific and setting great, will go again without the negative entertainment and will take a group and. We had this thing called a Wagyu roll whihc was thinhly sliced wagy filled with vegetables rolled and cut. it was mouth watering and a highlite ofthe meal on top of everything else.

I visited Kobe Jones Melbourne on Saturday night for my birthday, there were 7 of us for Teppanyaki, service was Rubbish, waiters rude, food was disappointing, at a bill of over $700.00 I would have expected better food and better service. Not even a free drink for my birthday or a discount for the disappointing service and very disappointing food. We should have gone to MacDonalds for dinner at least it would have been nicer!

We went to Koby Jones just before they moved from Docklands. Loved it! The food was fabulous. It was very quiet, with few other diners on the night. I can only imagine that's due to location, because it couldn't have had anything to do with the food. Went back the following week for the special lunch and was again very impressed. I'll definitely follow them to their new home.

I should have believed the negative reviews before I went to this place. Bought Spreets voucher which seemed to be a good deal but the experience was terrible. Rude and very arrogant senior staff who lacks in customer service, food took over 1 hr to come out, and staff appeared to pay more attention to 'full-paying' customers than voucher users. Highly recommend unless you have money to pay for your customer service. Even with the Spreets voucher it's not worth it. Big No for me.

My husband and I dined at your restaurant on Saturday night and we were absolutely delighted. The food was lovely and beautifully presented and the service was excellent. Your restaurant is definitely one we would like to return to for a special occasion. Thank you again.

What a disappointment. Having dined at Sydney's Kobe Jones on darling harbour this one was more like a food court experience! Maybe not in appearance but certainly in service and food quality. The rainbow roll rice was very dry and the tuna stringy. To pay $27 for this is a joke. Food court quality is slightly better.
The agedashu eggplant dish was missing the stuffed tofu as in the description. When questioning the manager he said it is in there. We asked him to show us, and he said its too dark so he'll bring it to the kitchen. After wards he brought out the dish again with tofu this time but just stir fried in rather than stuffed and this was nothing like the description.
The manager did not apologise. This dish was $31. He is also not japanese. He is from china. Very terrible service. Such a big disappointment from the Sydney experience. The meal at the end of the night for 3 was $220. Suggestion is to dine elsewhere. Stay away from this dodgy place!

Terrible service and awful experience. We ate at this venue for New Year's Eve after receiving direct assurances from the venue that the negative reviews on the net were no longer relevant.
I received a call from Kobe Jones requesting that I change my booking from 8:30 to 9 pm only to have my guests arrive for 9 pm and be told that our table was about to be given away because we were 30 minutes late.
The menu prices had changed from $115 for the luxury menu to $155 and the concierge swore to me black and blue that particular banquet had Never been $115 and that I was mistaken. I persisted, getting the original price list sent with my booking up on my iphone and showing it to him. He agreed and my guests and I paid the lesser amount, (shame for the people who did not speak up!).
When we asked for our complimentary champagne per guest promised at the time of booking we were told that, that was Not Included in the package, again we went to the Kobe Jones website on iphone and saw that New Year's offer clearly stating that there was a glass of champagne for all guests on arrival, showed the iphone display and received our complimentary beverage, (I heard other guests asking about this and getting the same negative response).
Concerned for a guest who indicated he was allergic to some seafood, I contacted the venue Two Days before the booking to request an alternative menu that was not vegetarian but instead included other meats instead of seafood. I was assured over the phone that this would not be a problem.
On the night, it took more than 1 Hour for our order to be taken at which time I reminded the wait person that I had called ahead to make alternative arrangements for my guest. This was not recorded and the concierge came to the table to say that they had not been told about this and that it was not possible to arrange a meat menu on the night as the kitchen was very busy (which was why I called two days prior).
A vegetarian option was all that could be offered with the addition of 2-3 meat dishes and he hardly ate a thing. This took another 30 Minutes to sort out.
My guests and I, although we had been seated since 9 pm, did not receive our first dishes until 10:30!
