Cheap and cheerful. Good value Korean food.

The last time we were there the food was cheap but below than average and greasy. The burnt oil smell was not pleasant at all. I am not sure if we will try it again or not. They have had a renovation recently and bought the shop next to them to expanded the restaurant by adding another kitchen, so maybe we will give them another chance.

I popped in for lunch the Monday before Melb cup day. I walked up and down Glenferrie Rd deciding where to eat, but this little cafe attracted me though the open store front. There was only one other table occupied, so I felt a bit unsure of its 'local rep', but my faith was restored looking through the menu on the four portrait LCD screens above. I elected to order the Ramen noodles with teriyaki chicken ($8.50). The waitress taking my order at the counter was difficult to understand, despite me knowing the price, I thought she was overcharging me $9.50 until I got my change.

Taking my seat at a table looking outside down Lynch St at the city, I decided to get a drink too, the service was so swift she was already holding my dish when I was grabbing my drink from the fridge. I really enjoyed the teriyaki chicken. The sauce was 'chunky' and thick, great texture (reminding me of what I'd expect from a good satay sauce with the texture of peanuts in it), and a wonderful freshly spiced aroma. The portion size was just right for my lunch, and I felt quite well fed afterwards (i.e. now).

When I left there were 4 tables occupied, so I think my initial thoughts of low popularity were a bit off. I'm planning to go back another lunch time soon to try more of their menu (like the dish I heard sizzling on the table next to me). Tasty, quality and fast!

Good Korean food if you are on a budget. The lunch boxes are quite good value, especially the spicy chicken lunch box.

One of the many real authentic Korean restaurants around Melbourne. This place is usually full during lunchtimes as they offer good food at affordable prices. The lunch boxes is great value at under $10, and comes with rice, choice of meat, kim chi + salad and fruits, but I usually go there for the hot pot. Sometimes, there is one waitress that is quite rude.
