My wife and I recently ate their and enjoyed every bit of the experience. We loved the choices and the freshness and flavour of each and every item we ordered. The decor is warm and comfortable and the service excellent.

The food was good, interesting flavours and nicely presented. There were a couple of lapses in the service, and in particular there was a significant delay in serving our main course which didn't appear to be noticed until we asked. Our impression was that our order was misplaced in the kitchen, but, perhaps, this can happen anywhere and as a gesture we weren’t charged for our coffees.

There’s a reasonable selection of wine, including a number by the glass, listed on the blackboard, but no bargains! The room is pleasant, although it’s a pity that many of the tables are in a long row against the wall as this can lead to a rather regimented feel.

Our family of four went to Italy 1 Camberwell and each ordered a different pasta. We really liked it very much as their serve and the ingredients they used were fresh. We had the entertainment vouchers and it was great value! Overall it was a great dining experience for us.

Very lovely place, even the soft dull sound of trams occasionally passing on bourke rd is calming. Service is excellent, and very attentive. Food is consistently good, and waiters always have time to explain. Occasionally noisy from above, as I think its a fitness centre.

We really enjoyed our evening at Italy1. We sat as a group of 6 at the front part of the restaurant which is slightly separated from the rest of the eating area, which was great since we had a baby in a pram. The ambience was very nice and the service excellent.

Upon ordering a rather expensive bottle of wine, the waiter noticed the smell was not right while being decanted and asked if it was ok for him to taste it. After tasting, he informed us the wine was not right and then replaced it without fuss.

After being advised that the fish of the day was king fish, and two of us ordering it, we were served salmon. Once we realised it was not the kingfish as quoted, we called the waiter over only to be told "the chef wasn't happy with the kingfish so changed his mind and cooked salmon" he went on to say "you had started eating it so I didn't bother telling you", very poor, they could have given us the courtesy of telling us of the fish change prior to cooking it.

We arrived about 20min late for our reservation. No fuss, the table was still available. Not that there was a big crowd but the restaurant filled up during the 1.5hours we were there.

Very nice interior and lighting. Tables appeared to be spaced well. Staff welcomed us warmly, showed us to our table and were back quickly for drinks.

The menu has something to offer for everyone. A family of five can be difficult to satisfy given the wide variety of tastes.
The wine list is somewhat limited in the by-the-glass section. Nevertheless, the Cab-Merlot was perfect.

The food was very good. For starters we shared calamari and salmon carpaccio. Both dishes were very good.

On to the main course. The Linguini Marinara were excellent, al dente and had just the right amount of frutti di mare. The home-made gnocchi were very good as well. We also had the catch of the day, Atlantic salmon, which was cooked to perfection.

Staff was very attentive and friendly. Our glasses very always topped off with water. When we inquired about the origin of the wine the waiter not only told us but gave us a copy of the label. Talk customer service!

Overall a very pleasant experience and a great evening. I almost forgot to mention that they adjusted the bill without blinking an eye after I told them I forgot to let them know about the Entertainment Card.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience at Italy1. We arrived without a reservation but still had a table if we were quick to dine which was okay by us. Met very warmly by staff and was quickly offered drinks. Our meals were lovely but a small slip up of providing us a salad that was meant for another table was made however no big deal. They said we can keep it at no charge. Overall a great evening with genuinely great service that appreciated your business.

A recent big disappointment after reasonable meals in the past two years. Poor and thoughtless cooking (dry tart base presumably cooked last week), with evidence of cost cutting (prime ingredients left out or 'minimised'). Menu has reverted to previous tired offerings. Non-existent service a common occurence.
Not recommended.
