The menu is tough, there is too much good stuff to choose from! I go for the 'Slow cooked goat, green olives, preserved lemon, cous cous, harissa' it is a cold Summers day in Melbourne and this is perfect. Delicious goat falling apart in the herbs and spices. The Morrocan flavours are wonderful and the fresh coriander brings it all to life, totally amazing dish, read more at my blog.

What a great little place. Sitting unassumingly on a corner in Carlton the Hotel Lincoln was a surprisingly-refreshing night out. Food was great, from the mixed array of appertisers (note: they are quite large portions) through to entrees and mains as well as a nice choice of desserts. Service was relaxed without being offhand or too casual. Good selection of wines and the portions, glass, half-pint, pint, bottle, were a nice little touch.
To top it off we had to check the bill: we thought they'd left something off.
Brilliant!

Beware, not flexible for lunchtime booking: don't do 12.30 booking, so we'll go elsewhere. Rated Food, Ambience and Value as 5 as wasn't even given a chance to try it! Service as a 2 for lack of flexibility for booking.

Excellent attentive service though not particularly busy for lunch. Comfortable and not crowded. Very good wine list with pricey impressive cellar selection. Moist tarte tatin, strongly flavoured venison sausage with beetroot puree, superb rabbit with offal, and freshly baked fennel seed bread. A very fine lunch.
