I have been to this particular Hog's Breath Cafe several times with friends and family. The steak is quite good but not as "grilled" or "charred" as I like it. Overall the service is good but depending on the staffs on duty, some are nice, friendly and helpful, some are just too serious or moody.

Ate here a few weeks ago after eating at the Karingal (Frankston) Hog's Breath. Unfortunately, I received nowhere near the quality I received from the Karingal restaurant.

The steak I was given was OK, nothing more than that. It had a hole in the middle of it, which they said was due to the connective tissue. Maybe so, but I have never received a steak presented like that and think it looked awful. Flavour-wise it was nice but nothing on the Karingal Hog's Breath. The accompanying vegetables are fairly plain with a cheese sauce - nothing special, easily knocked up with a pack of frozen veggies from the shops.

Service was average, granted they were busy. Ambience was average once again, we could feel the staff were busy, rather than feeling the restaurant was lively.

Not particularly remarkable experience, and average food. I would not recommend the Doveton branch at all. Try the Karingal Hog's Breath as their steaks were some of the best I've ever had.
