We went on a gift voucher, so can only go by that! We thoroughly enjoyed what we ate for all 3 courses! Although they were short staffed, we could not complain of the lack of service, in fact I think because of that, they went that bit furthur to give us the best service. If I was paying cash, I would not like to pay the full price, but we enjoyed it, and the experience!

Should add, that the location was not easy to find, and that they do need to open it up more some how to draw attention!

We purchased 2x vouchers from Deals.com and went with one other couple of friends. We were all looking forward to a great evening. Unfortunately, the restaurant is placed under an office building and has no real ambience, it felt like walking into a mediocre dining room.

Many dishes from the menu were not available ("they were busy yesterday...”). The senior staff of the place was rude and with no customer - centric relationship. The food was good, but no service to support the experience. 3 of us wanted eye fillet for main course but they ran out of this dish for tonight. Dessert was a small selection from the menu, as many dishes were not available... (yes - you've guessed it - "they were busy yesterday...”).

When we asked for 2 scoops of plain vanilla ice cream to go along with the sticky date pudding, we were told it would cost a little extra which we were happy to pay, however, they wanted $10 for 2 scoops of plain vanilla ice cream, not even homemade, interesting approach. I could buy 2 litres and get change for that price. So we sent it back untouched.

So, in conclusion, we would not recommend rushing there in a hurry. There are far better restaurants with excellent food and service, great ambience and friendly senior staffs.

Came to this restaurant using a coupon with my girlfriend. Had an excellent dinner. My wagyu was cooked to perfection and the desserts were divine! Will definitely be coming back again!

What a pleasant surprise! We bought coupons to this place to take some friends as we were out of town (from Sydney). The night turned out to be an outstanding experience. The location I have to admit was difficult to find as it is beneath an office block on St Kilda Rd. After finding it and going in, it was a simple bistro styled ambience. No frills and relaxed. It was not pretending to be anything but.

A cheerful lady greeted us and we initially had drinks in the bar/lounge area. A full bar selection. Everyone had wine except me. I had a mocktail. She was also the bartender.

We soon got ourselves a table and were given our menus. The offerings on the menu was more than adequate. There was something for everyone. Actually some of us had problems deciding what to have. So we decided we each chose something we wanted and shared. That same lady turned out to be the waitress as well. Just as well there was only six tables that night.

In between service we spoke to the lady and discovered that this is a new venture that was only about 2 months old. She didn't get any wait staff for the night because of the low bookings. Clearly she was more than capable of handling everything. There was little that we had to ask for. She also mentioned that her husband was the chef.

The food was beautiful. Entrees with delicious and just the right amount not wanting any more. entrees were a mixed bag of oysters, cold meats, calamari and salads. The mains were even better. Again the right portion. Mind you I am a fairly big eater. There was duck and two kinds of steak.

When we were ordering dessert we asked if we could speak to the chef to complument him on his culinary skills. After desserts came out, so did the chef. I was astounded. He was of Indian decent and what a wonderful surprise to see this man cook such delightful food.

In a nutshell, the food was anything but pretentious. The ingredients were fresh and the approach broaching between Asian and Western. Everything was simple and inviting. I would highly recommend this place. Cheers!
