Also had the misfortune to dine there - we ordered two steaks ($28 ea) they were so tough even the steak knife would not cut it- they poured gravy over the thin chips & salad - for $28 I would certainly each somewhere else & will certainly not be back! Staff were great, service good, views - not bad!

I had the misfortune to dine at the Harbour Town Hotel recently. The décor is cheap pokie joint but without the pokies. The chairs are thinly padded and most uncomfortable. The table was greasy as though it had been wiped with an oily cloth.
The bar service was slow even though there were not a lot of people waiting.
The meal I ordered was Lobster & Camembert pie with salad. The salad was rocket leaves, one small piece of sun dried tomato and too much sliced red onion.

The pie was more like an entrée serve despite the $19.80 price paid. Under the slightly soggy crust the boiling yellow runny fluid fresh from the microwave smelt something like cheese but was fairly tasteless. The ‘Lobster’ inside if you could find the 3 or 4 small pieces was more like extruded fish extender they put in crab sticks and had no flavour whatsoever. When I complained to the plate collector (I won’t call him a waiter) his response was “I’m glad I don’t work in the kitchen then.” When I asked him to relay my message to the kitchen he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off.

The plate collector obviously never attended hospitality school, reaching across 3 - 4 people to collect plates and glasses, but than I guess you can’t blame him as the duty manager did the same when delivering the meals. At least the glass of red wine I had was nice. Or I should say the wine that only filled the bottom third of the glass that I received for my $7. We went elsewhere for our coffee and cake to finish the evening.
On a scale of 1 – 10, my rating for this place is 1/2. Never again.

Pretty good parma on a Monday night. Beers aren't exactly cheap. Service leaves a lot to be desired. Bar staff made me feel like I was putting them out by actually placing an order. It wasn't as if the restaurant was packed or anything, only a handful of tables. Maybe we got them on an off day. Will try again next week and report back.
