The food was to die for. The chef has made a dish with the perfect blend of spice, flavour and freshness I thought I was eating in a restaurant in Vietnam.

I love Ha Long. The original restaurant in Footscray is much more basic and not nearly as pretty, but it’s worth it for the delicious fresh food. I highly recommend the rice vermicelli and braised beef, satay beef skewers or the Malaysian beef or salt and pepper prawns.

I liked the decor with the brights colours and hanging lanterns. The lemon grass and chilli tofu was far too salty and the chicken cashew nut a bit bland. Pretty good spring rolls. Price was reasonable compared to others in the area.

Proud to be the first to review Ha Long. I love this place, its decor was great when they first opened and to the regular eye its become dated alittle but its still nice. Its not a flash as some in the same strip but its tidier that alot of other and less crowded for seating. Its in the middle of the road. The service is always great and even after two years being abroad and coming back the owner still recognised me.

The food is great value for money and like most places in victoria st. the complimentary prawn crackers and tea are always nice and welcomed. They also offer the take away. Whats sets this place apart from the others on the street, is that its cleaner, less crowded, owners not trying to push you out the door the minute you put the last mouthful to your lips, the food is always well cooked (I don't mean welldone) fresh and plentiful and of course the service is great. Hats off to this family who work darn hard to make this business work.
