I have been to this restaurant twice now and I have also been to several other korean restaurants. Unfortunately, the food is quite overpriced for the amount of food you are given. If you order a meat dish (eg. beef bulgogi), they hide the meat with so many vegetables that it stops being a meat dish. My meat meal came with three, thin, teaspoon sized portions of meat. Dissapointing. I also tried some of their other dishes such as the potato noodle parcels that look really interesting. This particular appetiser presents well but it is missing flavour. There is room for improvement here and unless they improve, I certainly won't be returning if I am footing the bill.

Best Korean food I've ever had in Melbourne. We had the pork hotpot, amazing (and I tend not to like pork dishes), vegetarian dumplings, delicious, seafood pancake, very good and the fried tofu (which my partner thought was the standout). We went with a large group of 30 and were seated upstairs in the private dining section. Nice. Waitress and kitchen did pretty well considering we all ordered al a carte.
Decor is nice, but the building itself is an old terrace so without a huge amount over $ for a complete overhaul its a bit hard to make it presentable. We also got the mini chocolate dumplings, certainly miniature and the green tea ice cream which was home made. No corkage for BYO wine either, lovely.
We paid $70 for the 2 of us which included a bottle of Marlborough sav blanc ($29). Banquet menu was reasonably priced at $30 for big share courses. Highly recommended by me!

I have been to this place for a family dinner get together and was thoroughly impressed. The chef here is clearly committed to quality and creative dishes and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. As one other reviewer said, if you tire of the same old Asian dishes then Goshen is well worth checking out!

This is different, it's Korean with the chefs individual twist. Overall I was pleased with the experience, food was tasty and priced accordingly. As mentioned the rice pots are great. If you drink beer make sure you try Hite!!! Definitely worth a second look!

OMG! the rice pots are to die for - I would get the house special, think it is the beef and vegetable with rice in a stone pot - really nice, but not overlly cheap - I think $17 for the meal. They also have the best tofu I have ever tasted (in the tofu entree) - seriously, no joke!
Really good vegetarian options as well.

Food was average, service was great , the waitress was very attentive, the price is a little high for the portion sized they served.

Goshen is a gorgeous looking place with patterned walls, decorative table settings and attentive staff. The food is spicey and interesting, and relievingly not like any other Asian popular cuisines but a crazy mixture of a few of them.
Sick of this basil, ginger and soy sauce dominating every meal, want lots of meat or vegetarian without the fish sauce? Then Goshen is for you! And Smith St is a hot place to be, seedy schlick with enough bars to make the night last! I love it!

Food here is terrible. This is not Korean food. The food is a fusion with Korean flavours that has been bastardized by westernization to the point that it can no longer be called Korean food. Atmosphere is also pretty mediocre, fitting in very well with the Smith Street culture, but by this hippy setting, losing the last ounce of asian-ism it may have had. Service is pretty good compared to other restaurants on this street, but nothing spectacular, and price... I would consider it overpriced considering the taste of the food, but otherwise isn't too expensive.
