Reasonable pizzas but l really do not understand how they are award winning.
Relatively expensive when compared to fast food outlets. Worthwhile but nothing to rave on about.

My review is going to upset the apple cart but is completely honest. I must have gone to a different place to the previous reviewers (I didn't) because the experience I had here was quite different.

Firstly let me say, the pizza's are not to die for. The food here is nice but definitely not great. There is much better pizza/pasta options within 1 km of here. It worries me that one reviewer 'moved close to the area for Golden Pizza'. Its not that good. The 'restaurant eating area' is more like a take-away waiting area. The service is very friendly. We shared a Saltati Tortellini to begin with. The tortellini was cooked to perfection. The sauce, bland and definitely nothing to rave about.

Followed this with 2 pizza's, 1 traditional 1 gourmet. The base was thin and crispy, the toppings although fresh did not add to the overall taste of the pizzas. I understand that the pizzas have won an award but I would suggest that its competition may have been the multinational chain type pizza places. As stated the pizza's/pasta was nice but really it is no more than a good take away.

Do your homework, there is much better genuine Award winning places around. The value was very good. As stated, this is an honest independant opinion. I suspect one or more previous reviews are not.

Just wanted to say congratulations on your win over the long weekend. 2009 Dairy Farmer State winner of the best traditional pizza's. Well done, no surprise really, your pizza's are to die for.

Its just like eating at home without having to lift a finger. Wonderful food, great environment and friendly service. Head down to opening night 25/11/08, they have relocated to 465 lygon steet Brunswick, just down the road from where they were. I had the privilege of attending pre-opening last night, the new shop looks amazing. I almost forgot how great the pizza's are. I suggest you pay them a visit.
Great for those small xmas gatherings. Oh and, they now have yummy aurora gelati and serve a beautiful mio coffee.

I have moved into this area of Melbourne before solely to be close to Golden Pizza. Their food is great value, their drivers are always friendly and never linger for a tip (which we give when we can - it's worth it for the food alone!). I have moved interstate, now, and still dream of their pizzas, burgers and, my favourite, the warm chicken salad. Best pizza in all of Lygon Street. And that's a big call.

This has been my local pizza shop for over two years now and enjoy my pizza's once a week. The owner won the best traditional pizza in the state 2007 and can back that up with all of his pizzas. They are made with a traditional Italian base which is always a highlight!

The toppings are always fresh and spread evenly over. This is as close to a traditional Italian pizza with an Australian twist without the flight to Italy! The Pasta's are delicious as are the burgers. Make sure you get a garlic bread with your pizza!!!!!
