We have dined several times, and now wouldn't consider going anywhere else. We discovered this place about 10 years ago, and we've never had a bad experience. The decor is shocking, in dire need of a reno/refurb, but the food is devine, cheap, the service is great and they are most accommodating of families.

Great place to stop after the footy, always smile on arrival, ok we stick to some entrees and the satays, in and out quickly with the food always excellent, The roast pork is a treat. The family who run the restaurant always great us with warmth, even if they do barrack for collingwood.

We discovered this place by accident and have since eaten here every time we come to Melbourne. The food is fantastic, the service is generally quick and the atmosphere is of a family business, very caring and concerned with their efforts.
We would highly recommend this place.

Been eating here for years never had meal service is always good just went last week and only cost $35 each and we ate like kings. Satays would have to be the best in Melbourne. They must be doing something right or else they would not have lasted 30 years.

My husband and I have been dining here for the last 7 years. If its just the 2 of us we order the chinese fillet steak and the seafood combination with special fried rice. If we take our friends we order an abundance of the mixed satay. Its all delicious! The staff are always friendly and the prices very reasonable. The venue itself is very simple but hey! thats why we like it. My advise is try it before you believe any negative reviews. Well done guys! Faye would be proud.

I was searching around the internet and I came across this restaurant. The ratings were good. So I thought to myself, "Hey lets try it out". Being a Malaysian, I really wanted to try the Malaysian dishes that they offer. To my amazed, the food was nothing like Malaysia and yet they claim to be First Malaysian Restaurant in Melbourne. First of all, the owner is not Malaysian. They are from Hong Kong because I over-heard their conversation. Secondly the food taste like it came from a can that you could buy from any Asian Groceries shop.

I had satay for a start. It was the most horrifying taste I ever had. The satay sauce tasted like it came out of a can, the satay was not marinated with lemongrass, tasted more like steak, and served with cucumber and tomatoes. What’s with that? I came from a town which is famous for satay and we serve it with fresh crushed peanut sauce with cucumber and onions, not tomatoes! The second dish was chicken curry...well came out from a can too I guess. It was salty and less spiced. We don't put broccoli in any curry dish ever. We put potatoes or tomatoes, but certainly not broccoli. Then it came to the stir fried vegetables. It was like eating starch.

My advice to patrons: "This is not how Malaysian food tastes like at all, its Malaysian wannabe HKs". Not value for money at all.

I have been eating here on my visits to Melbourne since the 1970s - the same family have run it since then. Great Malaysian and Chinese food - Satay sticks are their specialty. BYO or buy at the restaurant.
