I really enjoyed dining at Genarros, staff were very friendly the food was lovely and the atmosphere was very relaxed, loved sitting by the cosy woodfire.

My experience at Gennaro's was one of could have beens. The food could have been good, but there was something missing. The service was friendly, but we were dining al fresco and they didn't think to ask us if we wanted salt or pepper. The pasta in the lasagna was fresh and the bolognese sauce was thick and meaty, but the dish lacked flavour overall. The crust on the capriciosa calzone was fabulous, but the filling was quite bland.

In both cases, I suspect the right seasoning could have turned both dishes around. It's a pity because first impressions are what stay with us. In this case, an almost good dining experience will almost certainly keep us from going back.

Good, honest Italian food. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the decor is modern and inviting. Atmosphere is relaxed and casual and the whole experience is good value for money.
