I used to be a regular at the Geebung - it's a few blocks from my place and offers an amazingly delicious parma. I was a huge fan until they ripped me off on Christmas Eve.
I had eaten at the Geebung a few weeks ago and noticed they were overcharging me for Heineken's. Spoke to the staff and she adjusted the price to reflect the menu price, no worries. Came back a few weeks later on Christmas Eve to find the same problem, the lady behind the counter assured me that the price would be adjusted when I closed my tab. An hour or so later and that lady has left for the evening, and the man behind the counter would not adjust the price to reflect the menu price.
I pointed out the mistake, and another man behind the bar chirped up and said the price had increased recently. I told them I had already discussed this with the previous lady, but they said she was wrong and there was nothing they could do about it.
That's right, they charged me more than the menu stated, and wouldn't adjust the price when I showed them what the menu said. I'm sure that's illegal.
Either way, I'll now walk further away to other pubs in the area with lower quality food, who treat their customers with the respect they deserve and don't try to rip me off.

This is a stately hotel, with some pretty ordinary drinking areas. However, the restaurant itself is nicely fitted out with period furniture, creating a nice ambience. The menu is varied and well-priced. Our group enjoyed the soup of the day and garlic prawns to begin.
The mains included the fish of the day (grilled salmon), a steak (nicely done, just as ordered), crumbed pork schnitzel with chips and Turkish salad and an eggplant parmigiana, all of which were very satisfactory. The wine list offered a varied choice (including Penfolds St Henri!) with the usual markups, and the service was patient and helpful.

Has come a long way in the last few years, great dining room. The menu has a mix of classic pub (parma, steaks) and more adventurous food (chicken tagine, lamb shoulder salad). Good variety of beers, wines and basic spirits available. All served in a warm, friendly environment.

Would not recommend eating there for Chrismas lunch. What we paid per head for what was served was very poor indeed. Definitely no value for money!

We went on a Tuesday night where the meals were discounted. We had fish and chips and we did not enjoy it as we found it very bland. When I ordered my pint, I was charged for two pots (which I believe is more expensive) but when I questioned this, I was told the cost was the same. Not recommended for a meal.

Went along for Mon-Tues cheap night meal, waitress didn't flinch when I inqiured as to previously reviewed questionable kitchen staff. She replied "they've all been fired". Meals were great, would have been expensive at menu price but for $14 was reasonable.

What a beautiful old pub with, unfortunately, the worst food I've had in ages. How can you destroy roast of the day?

Never a great dining experience to hear the entire kitchen staff burst out laughing the moment after you are eating your meal, and then see each chef walk by of the kitchen door and look directly at your table. The food is decent enough value on the cheap nights but would probably taste much better without the suspicion of spit, snot or whatever else amuses bored cooking staff.
