After purchasing a cudo voucher for a seafood platter and a bottle of wine valued at $240 and having been here a few times previously I expected something good. I handed over the voucher and a waiter returned and poured 2 glasses of wine and went to walk away. I had to ask him what wine we would be drinking. Then a large seafood platter was bought to the table and the waiter left (no explanation of what was on the platter).

Most of the platter was cold and some of the food under cooked. We only had one mouthful of the crab as it was undercooked. Both my husband and I fell ill after eating their food and will not be returning to the restaurant.

Over priced for what you got. Food was okay but not super. Do not honor the discount cards they register with. Won't be back.

Came in at about 8 pm, famished. For a Friday Night only had 3 tables in with the downstairs closed. Didn't bode too well. I ordered a seafood chowder to start. Nice size serve, actually quite large, albeit rather bland. Main was a wellington or ocean trout and prawn with spinach. Lovely pastry, but again bland. Ocean trout tasted as if was boiled as well as the prawn and just plonked inside. Lacked flavour but the buerre blanc was nice. For the price, well expected more.

Our favorite restaurant in the Sandringham area! The taste and presentation of the food is excellent (try the garlic prawns!) and the service is friendly and efficient. Have enjoyed meals both upstairs and down.

We keep coming back to Finz! Superbly cooked seafood, terrific service, and great location. It is worth lashing out for the seafood platter, I would advise to eat downstairs though as the food is just as good but cheaper! Highly recommended.

I have lived in the area for 35 years and for nearly all that time I have looked at this restaurant site and thought "with a location like that, it should work". Great views overlooking picturesque Sandringham Beach and a reasonably nice upstairs dining room (but don't look too closely). Unfortunately that is about where the good news ends.

This isn't good seafood. We dined some months ago. There were 4 of us. For the first time in her 68 years on the planet, my mother sent a meal back to the kitchen (the Barramundi) for more appropriate cooking with the objective to make it edible.
This is really tired and uninspiring cooking and the place somehow, despite the view, manages to lack any atmosphere whatsoever.

I don't know, maybe they are being too ambitious with what they are trying to achieve but I am still looking at this site wondering why it does not work. Maybe it is poor food at very high prices?

After reviewing website, six of us went to lunch yesterday and all were pleasantly surprised by the range of foods, the care in presentation of such and the delightful tastes of each meal. The host was most obliging with our flowers and gifts and assisted our birthday celebrations with sparklers in our desserts. Parking was not an issue on Sundays. This restaurant will be the venue for a further celebration of the group in March 08, decision was made on the spot yesterday, no better recommendation than that for the success of my selection of this restaurant.
