I've been to The Estelle twice for breakfast (which was faultless both times) and have been meaning to try their dinner menu which I finally had the chance to do last night.

The decor is flawless. The wall tiles match the art deco style crockery and the crochet meats hanging from hooks along one wall are a cheeky hint at the numerous rich meat dishes available on the menu. Each time I have visited the music has been enjoyable and played at a reasonable volume so as to allow conversation without the need for yelling. The wait staff are attentive and friendly without being obtrusive.

The prices are very reasonable considering the gigantic portion sizes. We were certainly not left wanting!

In regards to the previous reviewers comments; they have a new door latch so hopefully that will have fixed the door opening problem.

Fabulous food and stylish decor. We also liked the music selection being played in the background. The potted meat was superb, the porterhouse still makes my mouth water in memory and the pannacotta with almonds delicious.

The only down spot was the cold tile wall against which our table was placed and a front door inclined to blow open and let in cold gusts of air, not ideal on a freezing winter's night. Will definitely go again, although with a warmer jumper!

We had a great meal at The Estelle, after entering with no knowledge of the menu or expectations of the place. The decor isn't particularly welcoming and lacks some ambience on a dark winter's night but there's clearly been some thought put into the style and it fits with the food. The service was friendly, attentive and helpful.

A shared terrine was perfect with a glass of bubbles, and left both of us wanting more. The beef rib was the epitome of comfort food, and my partner's whole baby snapper disappeared quickly.

I'd go back again, without hesitation. Just for a heart-warming meal that satisfied on all fronts.
