Management changes often, the one that was on tonight wed 4 May always stuff things. Meal are usually good when he is not their. Last weeks manager, the Aussie looking man with glasses does one top jobs. Meals will be good when he is on. But the meals tonight average. Wrong manager, wrong night.

Nothing to complain about, but certainly nothing worth mentioning that would make me want to return. A basic pub meal at pub prices and very ordinary atmosphere. Better pubs to eat at than this.

Food was preety good there, Not over priced. Yes I would go back there.

My partner and I ate at the Epping Hotel in High Street, Epping, Victoria last night, (25/10/09) like we have done many times before. I ordered the open lamb souvlaki, he ordered the chicken satay skewers, from the Specials Board. Shortly after our meals were brought out, my partner noticed that he had only received 3 chicken skewers instead of the four as described on the specials board. He was also missing the side of chips that was also mentioned. He advised the waitress who returned promptly with one small chicken skewer, but no chips were ever forthcoming.

It was only then that I noticed underneath a piece of lamb, a large white hair running from the lamb to the tsatsiki sauce. I motioned to the waitress and quietly pointed this out. She immediately removed my meal. Because of this I completely lost my appetite and could not stomach a replacement meal, but was advised that it was policy that no refund be given on returned food. We were offered an apology by the waitress, but no offer of recompense was given.

After approaching the manager, my partner was informed that whilst it was unfortunate that this had happened, hotel policy did not allow refunding of meals that were unsatisfactory, and that I should have accepted another meal in exchange. We quietly left, vowing never to eat there again and I advise anybody thinking of eating there to think very carefully before they do.

This was the only bad experience I have had at this hotel, but I feel that the way they handled it was very poor. I did not expect a full refund but, perhaps, a meal voucher for another time or even a free coffee would have gone a long way to appease me. Our night was quite spoilt by these incidences, through no fault of our own. Not a good experience.

Not great value but good food. Nice Steak but some other meals not big enough. Would be nice to get table service but its up to the cashier to order and pay meals then up to the bar everytime you want a drink. More a bistro than a Hotel.
