This place is an institution! I used to go here as a kid and it is great to see it hasn't changed. We ordered the banquet which was excellent value for money. The food was tasty and fresh. The male waiters were courteous and efficient. We went on a Saturday night and yes, Derrick J is still the resident musician! Our young children enjoyed getting up and having a dance. A very enjoyable evening.

We've been going there for over 20 yrs. and even recommended friends. In August we booked a table for 10 banquet dinner. It was ok, nothing to write about. But serving banana fritters (1/4 of actual size) is a joke, why didn't they just take it off the menu if it was that expensive. Then came the cloth to wipe hands. It was all crumpled, it looked like it was already used. Ahh don't forget the music, he came late and seemed bored to death. Then later played mp3's of YMCA and other music. So much for live "Canned" music, never will we go back there.

We like to go here - but I will never ever go on a weekend evening again!
We waited for over an hour for our main meal (with a little guy getting more and more distressed as his bed time approached, came and then went). And this was after a half hour wait for our entrees. In the end it was only my husband asking them to pack our food in to take away containers which got our meals immediately served!
Which is a pity because the food is good. Really good! And we often go there for a lunch or early weekday dinner.
On weekend or Friday evenings, though, the take away demand obviously puts way too much stress on the kitchen and unless you've got the time and company for a long chat and wait I'd suggest timing your visit for another time.

Not too busy or overcrowded, quite spacious and peaceful for a Sunday lunch. The staff are very friendly and timely. We had the banquet and the food was alright, but not delicious as such. Perhaps, that was because none of my favourite dishes were on the menu, but at the time we could only order the banquet for the Sunday lunch as the a-la-carte menu was not available on that day. I've never really been a fan of san choi bow, lemon chicken, prawns or satay skewers. I'm willing to give it another try and, perhaps, order sweet and sour pork and fried rice from the menu if they have it.

I remember going here as a kid, 20 years later I still love it! Excellent food, great service (although I still miss Justin) and a lovely ambience. Try it, I'm sure you will love it too.

Being "Chinese Food Connoisseurs" this is an awesome Restaurant at an affordable price. Food that is of high quality and excellent taste. The Satay Skewers are tender and the satay sauce is delicious and not too hot. The San Choi Bow is the best that we have eaten in a long time. Their Peking Duck is A1 - the Duck is tender and they add Pickled Cucumber and Ginger to make it that bit different.
Their signature Dish Crystal Jade Prawns with wrapped in Spring Onion melts in your mouth. The Crisp Skin Chicken is just that crispy and tasty with their salt mixture. Great service and helpful waiters. We drive 30 minutes just to get take away from here as it is just as delicious.

A local favourite that has been around for years, live entertainment on w/ends for dancing. Eat in or take away. Lots of room for group bookings. The food is of good quality and value. The decor's a bit dated but the service is great, licenced with cocktail list.
