We are regular at East Imperial for the past 2 years, we always enjoy Yum Cha there. With heaps of different varieities of steam dumpling like King Prawn, Ginger Prawn, Chinese Chives. Also we love their Spicy Calamari, Potato Prawn and pan-fried chilli chicken dumpling. Remember green tea ice-cream is one of the good option for dessert. East Imperial is excellent for service, quality and value for money. Highly recommended!

We are regular at East Imperial for many years and we always find East Imperial do the best Yum Cha in town. Hot dumpling trolleys go all around, ginger dumpling, Scallop dumpling and little dragon pork bun are must try. Apart from steam dumpling, we also ike peking duck wrap, potate prawn and palm leaf chicken. If you like Yum Cha, this is the place you must try! Highly recommended!

Yum cha for wealthy white people. Inauthentic generally, and the 'modern creations' do not impress. The maitre d' was unfriendly, but the serving staff were very pleasant. Very expensive, with a $50 eftpos minimum. Not unexpected in this location I suppose.

Good yumcha, but a bit expensive, also, it took 2.5 hours for us to have lunch because it took sooooo long for the dishes to come out. We ordered all of our dishes in the first 20 minutes. We left as soon as the last dish came out. Requiring a $100 deposit to book a table is a bit of an outrage, and shows that this restaurant is not that popular during weekdays. Pretty interior, though.

Having been to China on several occasions, I can strongly say that East Imperial serve authentic Chinese meals that is extremely delicious. Not only A La Carte Menu but they also serve Yum Cha for lunch and dinner, love all the freshly make dumpling and lots of different varieties. I have tried many other chinese restaurants in Melbourne, but not one is as good as East Imperial! Highly recommended!

Our family been to many places for Yum Cha, and we have all found East Imperial Chinese restaurant is our best choice! Love the Yum Cha there, with lots and lots of different variety. Must try the ginger dumpling, little dragon pork bun and BBQ pork bun, they are our favorite! Also they always have some new dishes to surprise us. For the deep fry dishes, we particularly like the potato prawn, sping onion pancake and peking duck wrap. Apart from mango pudding and egg custard tart, they also have different ice-cream for dessert like green tea, black sesame and wasabi. For Yum Cha lovers, this is the place you not gonna miss! Can't wait to visit again! Highly recommended!

Be regular customer at East Imperial for almost a year. I have tried other Asian restaurants in the area, but have always found East Imperial to be excellent for service, quality and value for money. The owners are cheerful and wonderful hosts. I highly recommend that you give this restaurant a try. Also Sunday Yum Cha a must try. They do best BBQ Pork Bun!

East Imperial Chinese Restaurant was fantastic, we visited for Yum Cha last Sunday and it was one of the best we've had, lots of choices and delicious. All the Food come out from the trolleys are hot and fresh, really like the King Prawn Dumpling and BBQ Pork Bun. They were also in The Age Epicure that the Pork Buns voted the best in town. I think they deserved to be best in Melbourne. The atmosphere was great, relax and good to be a party place.

I visited the East Imperial during the week and left absolutely impressed by the quality of the food and excellent service. I think this would be the best Asian restaurant I have visited in my quest for a divine dining experience. it isn't the cheapest place I have been to, but certainly the best food. Will return without a doubt.

The food was ordinary and not much variety and very expensive. I can get better value for money at Tai Pan with great food choices.

The staff was soo rude. My friend was pregnant with twins, and asked the senior staff for some ice water, and they refused to give it to her because other customers are more important who order coke and had to argue with them til they bring the ice water.

Their other inexperience staff accidently pour soy sauce on my other friend who happened to wear her white pants on that day. This shows you how careless they are when they clean the dishes and customer services is non existence.
