I found that the club offered an incredible range of vegan and vegetarian food providing mock meat and it's most famous vegan parma. However, the venue was very dark and my family and I could not see our food as the lights weren't turned on. The food took quite a while to come out, although was quite delicious.

My husband and I received very shoddy and offensive service at the East Brunswick Club, known for its separate vegan pub menu, on December 28, 2009. There had obviously been a miscommunication when we ordered, and we received regular nachos rather than the vegan nachos we had specified. We requested a refund rather than a new order, as our time was limited and the nachos had already taken far longer than they should have.

The tight-lipped waitress removed the nachos, and we waited for our refund. Instead, she summoned her senior staff, who came over and was very hostile, basically accusing us of ordering the wrong thing and citing the “evidence” that the word vegan hadn’t appeared on the docket the waitress had written, implying that we had never specified it. We eventually received a refund with very bad grace.

If there had simply been some genuine miscommunication, we would have returned eventually for another meal because we like the food. Instead, the staff initiated a round of you-said-she-said accusations, what did they expect the outcome would be? Even if they believed we had accidentally ordered the wrong thing and the fault was ours, their hostile response was totally pointless. It was a $12.50 plate of nachos, for crying out loud. Don’t expect good service here.
