What a letdown. Having been a regular patron of this restaurant some years ago, I decided to take family from overseas for a Yum Cha today, 27 December. The selection of dishes was very limited with about 15 items on offer. Hot dishes were served cold, and the prices for the standard of the food were exhorbitant.
When I complained to staff about the cost and the quality of the food I was told that it is all out of their control. They were right, nothing they did in this place showed any semblance of control. I am about to check with Dragon Boat at Knox to see if they are affiliated, as I have not been there for about 12 months. I hope the Knox restaurant is not affiliated with the Melbourne Dragon Boat, because if it is they have lost myself and my friends as customers.

This place was horrible! The waiters refused to take our orders, and it was yumcha. I'm not sure how you can refuse to order at yumcha because all it takes is handing around plates of dumplings. One of the dishes had hair in it and they actually grumbled saying "it's not hair" when it was obviously hair. The tea had hair in it.
The waiters kept looking at the floor and avoiding to serve us. We ordered fried rice and were actually told that the cook was on lunch and that we'd have to wait until he came back. An hour later, we still didn't have our fried rice so we asked what was going on. They had the nerve to actually tell us we hadn't ordered it. Will never go there again.

Went for YumCha with 3 friends on 3/10/11 and the dim sums were not fresh. Few dishes ordered where only luke-warm and some were cold. We then complaint to the waiter and Request for the same dish but a fresh one instead and Hot. The waiter took away and return with the dish warmth up in the microwave with bits that we threw back from our plates. Clearly they were cheap hired waiters without proper training on food handling and most probably food preparation as well if they there for as well.
One particular dimsum, HarGau, were partially cooked but were too late for 2 of my friends to realized that since I was the one who took the last piece. I was lucky but they end up feeling ill that evening.
The quality of food and services diminishes year after year in this restaurant. Will not recommend or make any booking in the future.

Average chinese. We moved after we sat down which annoyed me. One beef dish tasted like tomato sauce, we would have in pasta. Food came out fast.

All you can eat Yumcha but all I did was "All you can wait"!! Waited for 2 hrs and only got to have 6 serves between two and the dessert never came around! the yumcha tray always went to one side and and when they got to us it was either cold or all gone so we had to pick only whats left!
So then I complain but the so called senior staff yells back! arrggghhh!
disgusting place~! Never going Back! and had to drink so much water after that meal! probably too much Msg!

It was a very busy Friday night in China Town and this restaurant was one of the few with space, a bad sign. As soon as I sat down the feeling in restaurant was cold. I could sense others diners frustrations, noting people getting upset with waitstaff and people immediately leaving after being seated. Food took a long time to come out and meals came out 20 minutes apart in some cases. In the end we stood up and left after only eating two dishes. Not recommended.

Where does one begin? Upon meeting friends on a Saturday night for a Birthday dinner at Dragon Boat, 203 Lt. Bourke St. Melbourne, we all gathered and settled into our seating arrangements. It was not busy at all and our group took up 2 tables.
I have to write in point form as this could take awhile. We waited 30 minutes until we were asked for drinks. Water tasted Horrible. Service was barely offered, and if so, it was very hard work. 7 of us ordered a Banquet and not one Chinese Tea was served (as per menu). Wine was served with fly. Clean dishes were served with water on them or sweat?
The waiters reached across our chest in a very intrusive, unprofessional way.
No one was offered drinks more than once. The female toilets were putrid with hair in the sinks, water everywhere and a foul and unpleasant odour decaying the entire room. No change table for babies. Dirty dishes only taken when asked.
Staff huddling together and joking around when we needed service (I noticed quickly some customer taken good care of).
Dirty dishes all over the table when dessert was served. When asked for a discount on the Chinese Tea and poor service they gave us $20 off to cover for the tea because each tea is worth $2 only. Beware! Do not enter!
This restaurant is utter filth, and I would never return!

New Years Day, waited 15 minutes to be handed an al la carte menu. Ordered, Schezuan Prawns,Stirfried vegetables, fried flounder and vegetarian fried rice.
45 minutes later we were served with fried flounder and combination fried rice. Order was written wrong by the waiter. Waiter had written combination fried rice and schezuan chicken. Obviously order is written in chinese, and the docket left on the table so we couldn't correct it.
They said we had to wait another 30 minutes for the correct order to come through. The restaurant only had four other tables occupied. After wasting an hour and not served with anything we had to walk out. No apologies and they couldn't care less. Worst restaurant ever!
