We were craving for some chinese dim sum. Did some research online and found that there was yum cha buffet at Dragon Boat Palace on lonsdale street. Since it was the weekend, we had to pay $22 per pax and a minimum of 2 persons have to dine at any one time.

One of the few Cantonese restaurants left in the city. The food is a little better than I remember it - still a little heavy though but not too bad.

This is one of the better Chinese restaurants in Melbourne and oh can I gripe about Melbourne Chinese restaurants! Service is slightly better (than the average Melbourne Chinese restaurant). The atmosphere is pretty average, noisy, bright, just like any other Chinese restaurants. Food is innovative though as usual yum cha staff aren't very friendly.

Cheap, but what price poor food. Have been coming for years for the convenience, but am still stuck out back with the westerners for the fried stuff. Need to speak Cantonese to be understood. Average quality food and tea. Ignore the theory about it being good if it is full of Chinese, Lygon St is full of my fellow wogs!

$15.95 for all you can eat steamboat is worth it. The food is terrible. Service is bad. Asked for extra soup for steamboat, given boiled water instead. Money is collected before finishing dinner. It's as if they are afraid that we won't eat there after looking at the food they serve. Not a recommended place to go.

Food's okish - nothing special but for the price it's definitely worth it. Service was a bit hasty and waiters weren't the most responsive - but this place is absolutely jam packed on weekends so I don't blame them. Which brings me to the point: good ambience definitely. A lot of Chinese come here so you know it's got to be good stuff.

Great yum cha, good service, excellent value, what more can I say?! While we were after an early table, I'd recommend making a reservation as the place quickly filled up on the Sunday we visited.
