Got takeaway so ambience probably shouldn't be rated but the waiting area was lovely! Great food, the lady who served us was wonderful and really good value. Will be returning for sure!

Nothing special. Food was poor in comparison to other Indian restaurants in the Northern Suburbs. Prices are reasonable, but I'd rather pay a little more for quality.

So we thought we would stop and try this place on our way to another indian restaurant. It turned out to be a great idea!

The most obvious and welcoming thing at Downunder Curry is their pricing. The value for money is excellent, with many of the mains under or just above $10 - great for those who take away.

No this is not the best curry restaurant in the whole world, but very few are. This restaurant gave us the basics of what we would expect from a good dinning experience: good food, value for money and reasonable service.

I must pay credit to the lamb vindaloo we ordered. The lamb was really tender, had great flavour, and most importantly the dish was HOT - finally, like it should be! To many times indian restaurants tailor their dishes for westerners - nice to see some traditional indian cuisine.

Conclusion: A very affordable way to eat 'home-made' style indian!

Ok, just passing by walked into this Indian restaurant, very impressive ambience. I must say the entrees are awesome. We tried the tandoori sizzler so juicy, very very very nice.

But the mains were very very very disappointing. The lamb rogan josh which we asked for medium, was given with sugar in it. It felt like a dessert. The paneer was so dry and rubbery, that it was barely edible. Service was not too bad. Overall was well, apart from the main course.

This place free delivers to us...awesome!!!! butter chicken is great!! and they have really good naan and potato naan. Going to eat in for the first time tonight, hopefully it will be as good as the food.

We often get take away, but have never actually eaten in. The food is wonderful, and the service (at least for take away) is excellent.

After having the restaurant recommended to me, I was disappointed. The food was OK, but nothing special. We had to remind the waiter many times to bring us some water.

Wow. What a saga! We got take-away from here on 23/02/07 after reading some of the reviews on here and also recommendations by family members who frequent it.

The food was of a good standard - I am happy to be upfront about that. But it was the service that really let us down it was an all time low for us. I had to repeat the order 3 times on the phone because they kept getting it wrong. When we went to collect they STILL had placed an incorrect order for us. Both incorrect quantities and flavours.

After sorting out what the order SHOULD have been they tried to short change us on the bill. Got home, unpacked the food and there was other items missing! Thoroughly frustrating experience. I do not 'hate' the place, I would probably go there again but if you get take away PLEASE make sure that you get what you order or eat in.

Also be careful with how hot you want the food. We got 1 mild and 1 'medium' the medium blew my head off could barely eat it and I enjoy spice. The naan was quite average but I accept this may have been because it was take-away and had gotten sweaty in the bag.

This is our new favorite indian restaurant. Great, tasty, fresh food that is cheap and always served with a smile. Restaurant is comfortable and clean.
