This is a delightful, different eating place. Loved all the dolls on display, and the food is simple but very good tasting, and plenty of it.

Visited the Dolls House on the Mount on a Sunday. It's in a converted house that looks more than a little tired, front door is in need of a paint. We got shown to our table by the waitress who was pleasant but fairly uninterested. Table setting were fairly kitch with table clothes made from that lace-covered-with-plastic that your nan used to have. We ordered the tea and scone combination. My wife ordered the plain and I went for the chocolate chip.

While we were waiting for the tea and scones to arrive we had a look at the 'dolls house'. This is basically a play room area with a large selection of dolls of various ages with a table set up for kids to play at. Our scones arrived presented on a single plate dusted in icing sugar with a single fake flower inserted into one of them.

Accompanied by a large pot of very whipped cream and raspberry jam. The crockery set was the sort of traditional tea set your nan had. My nan cleaned her's within an inch of its life, it would have been nice if the staff here had done the same.

Scones were fairly small, really not worth the $9 for the plain and $10 for the chocolate chip. Ambience was pretty much non-existent as there was the sound of a commercial mixer emanating from the kitchen from the moment we sat down till about 10 minutes before we left. If you are after a refined high tea experience keep driving, if you want somewhere to take the kids for a fairy bread party and you have a lot of money to spend on them then this is the place for you.

This is the best place for many occasions. Little Girls and Big Girls Birthdays! and especially Mothers Day but book way in advance! Take a step back in time and look at all the antique dolls and memorabillia. The scones and cakes and home made sausage rolls and quiches are fantastic and is great for morning or "high tea" all served in a period style house....
