We visited on a Saturday night right as the footy game was letting out, but were able to find free parking despite the crowd. The restaurant was not crowded at all, a shame, really. We had booked through a Groupon set menu pre-purchase that included two entrees, two mains, two desserts and a bottle of wine.

The set menu choices had a good variety to choose from and everything was superb. Really a beautiful place to dine and nicer than a lot of the overcrowded restaurant regions in the city.

This has for many years been my favourite restaurant in Melbourne and I have taken many visitors there over the years, however, when there on Friday night for a birthday celebration, we could not have been more disappointed, not by the food, but the service, which was surely the most apathetic, disinterested and rude in all of Australia. No one seemed to care, we had to ask for our drinks 4 times before they finally arrived, half way through our main course. What a huge letdown for such a previously great restaurant. I am sure that Cath Claringbold would be very sad indeed.

I'm not too sure why this place has such bad reviews. A group of 5 of us went for dinner last night and the food was lovely. Highlights were calamari, eggplant with honey (and I'm not an eggplant fan) mushrooms and the baked cheese. The seafood and vegetarian paellas were both very tasty, although I think the seafood paella would be nicer with big prawns. Waiters were very friendly, and make sure you order the apple vanilla martini, it's amazing!

I purchased a "Living Social" and booked for dinner @ Docked. When we arrived and were shown to our table the waitress told us we could choose two tapas and a Paella seafood or vegetarian.

It seemed different to the printing on the voucher which said 4 pinox/tos (spelling), a jug of sangria and 2 mains, but we did not want to argue or cause a fuss. She did recommend the calamari as one entrée. Then the waiter came, and he apologised for the lack of light, and proceeded to tell us that there was no calamari and no cheese, limiting our choices even further. After that the waitress then came to take orders from the table beside us, and they were able to order and receive calamari. We ate our two rather ordinary Tapas and then left quietly, without bothering to wait for the main.

I imagine that businesses sign up for those vouchers to improve their patronage. I expected that they would make an effort, but this was not my experience at Docked. We will not return and I could not recommend this business.

My partner and I went to Docked on a Jump On It voucher. Not bad value for $39, but I guess you get what you pay for.

The feel of the place was good and the smells were great. Waited 20 minutes to have our orders taken, which made me annoyed. Not sure whether this is because of the Spanish style dining and spread out over the night. Set a bad tone with me for service.

The appetizer was quite bad, not a fan of stale bread with unauthentic Chorizo on top. The entree meals were average, cheese on mussels? Not a fan. The fried eggplant with honey was tasty, I enjoyed this.

The main was an oily, heavy paella for us to share. I thought there was supposed to be fish, prawns and seafood in it? Not cheap marinara mix. I have vowed to always check Internet reviews before I go out again and waste my time and money.

I like to give restaurants a chance to impress me, however, this restaurant failed to provide service nor quality. I would suggest for the owner to focus on the details of the business including, using authentic quality Spanish cuisine (authentic Chorizo, and better quality food) and more communication to customers and let them know that Tapas dining is spread out so we aren't waiting hungrily and getting angry with the service.

By the way, very lucky to have such a gorgeous view. Good luck.

Surprisingly Disappointing. Thank goodness we went there on a voucher deal. First few courses were served altogether, then the wait grew out 40 minutes between courses as our poor chef was cooking for 5 sets of other guests all at once. Very smokey from food fumes, perhaps, the big extractor fans are for aesthetics only.

Our drinks took 15 minutes each time from ordering, if you could find a scarce waiter. We spoke to 2 other couples who will never return either, one on a voucher, but, unfortunately, the other were there on their wedding anniversary, who ended up paying over $500 for a dinner for 2, only to be bitterly disappointed. Poor Kobe Jones, does he not have a PR rep looking for feedback? We're regular Japanese diners, our advice, stick to South Yarra or Brighton Teppanyaki.

I took my Husband there for his Birthday (costing $155.00 each) expecting something special. No it was not. The wine was overpriced the courses were small. The service was so so. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Do not bother, the service was appalling, the drink prices are a rip off, the food served whilst tasty did not really excite. In fact I would suggest there are many better value establishments to eat at.

Do it be taken in by any of the coupon deals offered by this business. We felt we did not receive the value as promised by the so called deal. Lastly, the staff, who, offered no service, could not even work out why there was no tip added to the bill instead they seemed confused with the whole process at best.
In a few words... Give Kobe Jones a miss.

First you have the wrong adress for this restaurant on you site, its moved to the World trade centre.

Just wanted to say had not been there for a while but found it last Saturday night. The new format was great chose to have the teppanyaki.

Despite some loud mornon the table with his mates that thought he knew everything about everything (get them some times; we had a very pleasent meal in fact great.

I am writing becasue I find it interesting how trestuarants dela wityh those situations and recover. In this case that customer was not going to be happy no matter what they did and they tried.

For what it is worth in my mouth, the food was terrific and setting great, will go again without the negative entertainment and will take a group and. We had this thing called a Wagyu roll whihc was thinhly sliced wagy filled with vegetables rolled and cut. it was mouth watering and a highlite ofthe meal on top of everything else.

I visited Kobe Jones Melbourne on Saturday night for my birthday, there were 7 of us for Teppanyaki, service was Rubbish, waiters rude, food was disappointing, at a bill of over $700.00 I would have expected better food and better service. Not even a free drink for my birthday or a discount for the disappointing service and very disappointing food. We should have gone to MacDonalds for dinner at least it would have been nicer!

Popped into Melbourne for the Easter Long Weekend and saw a cheap meal offer on Jump On It for this venue. Only $39 for 4 Pintxos and 1 main each plus a jug of sangria. Good deal it seemed and nice way to start the weekend especially overlooking the Docklands area and good water views.

Unfortunately, we only received two starters which were two small pieces of bread (one with tomato, cheese and basil pesto and the other was tuna, spanish onion and walnuts) and then a large dish of seafood paella to share. I asked for the paella to share so certainly no qualms there, however, it was bland at best and like a packet of flavoured rice you buy at the shops with little much else going on bar a few pieces of seafood and the rice.

I think the set up of the place was quite funky and very Melbourne which I liked but could see myself more so drinking at the bar and listening to a band or DJ play rather than eating good quality meals.

This place is not much more than a hole in the wall with some outside seating areas. It is cheap and the food was surprisingly pretty good, especially the noodle dishes. Service is help yourself and don't expect real plates and cutlery, it is all of the takeaway variety but not a bad option if you are in the area.

I thought it was just us but based on the reviews below, clearly our experience was not unique. When we arrived, the senior staff was rude basically held up a finger to keep us quiet while he was looking around at something as we started to ask about seating. Luckily a waitress took over.

We waited 15 minutes to have our orders taken. Then over 45 minutes for the food to arrive. When I complained, we were basically told that the waiter who took our order forgot to put the order in.

When the food came, the salmon steak for my pregnant wife was basically raw. Mind you, we had an active 2 yr old and was never offered a high chair or booster at all which I found quite shocking.

Costed us $90 for lunch for a 2 mains, 1 kids meal. Not cheap. My wife hated the food but I personally found it Ok. Nothing crash hot but for the price, you deserve so much more.

And only try if you don't mind long waits and no service.

We went for a birthday dinner here with 2 other couples. Once we were seated outside it became quite apparent that the table plans weren’t created based on ambience, but rather money making. We were squashed in like sardines. We then waited over 10 minutes just to get a waiters attention to order a drink.

My friend and I ordered a coke, and after taking a sip it was obvious that their post mix machine was broken, as this wasn’t coke, it was just brown soda water, we sent them back and asked for lemonade. When the drinks came back out, I almost laughed out loud when I saw the amount of ice crammed into the glass. Just to make a point I took the ice out to see how much drink was left, and I would say not more than 80ml of drink. Wow $4 for 80mL, what a bargain.

We ordered bruschetta entrée`s which were nice, and after finishing half a slice, my Main turned up! First of all, very bad timing as we had barely started the entrée, second of all, why would they just bring out one persons main in a group of 6? Off to a terrible start.

One person ordered the steak, which was a hunk of gristly chewy meat on a bed of char grilled sloppy roasted capsicum, that set you back $30. The barramundi was about a handful of meat and that was $34! The person eating the fish had to then order a large pizza because his meal was so small!

Aside from all these issues, the service was just terrible in general, staff looked like they were purposely avoiding you, and they were also clueless as to where the tables were. Nothing worse than watching your dinner get a tour of the restaurant and offered to several tables before reaching you. And being in a group of 6, you should be able to hear each other, but the acoustics were so bad (because we were essentially seated in a tent on the footpath) that we had to practically yell to hear each other. Waste of money and never again.

Best part is the spicy curries, eggplant and dhal. Food is absolutely flavoursome. Gets very crowded too soon and a very small place for the number of patrons it attracts. Prefer eat-in than take-away always but sometimes the long queues and run-out-of their signature dishes is a deterrent.

Impressive ambience both within and outside. Good number of choices on the menu too. Most items were priced between $9-$12 making it an attractive place for lunch. I had nasi lemak before from a Malaysia restaurant but, here it pales in comparison. I felt the rice was a little under cooked. Chicken curry is faintly flavoured and gravy could have been a little thicker rather than watery. Servings are fairly filling and one can expect some extra toppings to complement/neutralize/accentuate the flavour.

We had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. It was probably the only place in that corner of the Docklands that had some people in it at that hour! I ordered a fillet steak and it was cooked exactly how I liked. The steak came with fries on the side (fries, not chips!) and were delicious! We also ordered green beans and onion rings to share and they were the perfect compliment to our meals. I also tried their beer taster which was presented very nicely (you've got to try it at least once!).

Unfortunately, it was a bit too much beer for me. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The ambience was spot on. My only gripe was that the smoke from smokers outside did waft inside alittle. But that wouldn't stop me from going back there for another meal!

Overpriced for the money and food received, told one price for child comes back with another price minutes later management on duty no thank you when leaving, glad to take the money with no smile, sorry but won't be back again. Place was also empty that figures.
