Delicious, innovative, beautifully presented fare offered in an elegant space by professional and friendly wait staff. Last week I had an amazing confit duck dish with sweet potato puree, which was accompanied by a divine duck and leek pie. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

My only complaint, if I must have one is that they've been closed on two of the three occasions that I've attempted to make a booking. As a guest of the Royce Hotel, this leaves you with a limited and somewhat disappointing room service selection from which to choose your much anticipated meal.

I'll be crossing my fingers that they're open on my next visit, as my previous experiences have been very pleasant indeed and well worth making plans to repeat it again.

After booking a group birthday dinner reservation was made, I turned up on the night to be told that the entire restaurant was booked out for a wedding and there was no record of my booking. A complaint letter also went ignored.

This place was pleasantly surprising. Very attentive staff, good atmosphere, good wine list and well thought out and cooked menu. We had the roast Harpuka and the Duck Parpadelle. The Harpuka was beautifully cooked, firm and succulent with a nice crispy skin. The duck rich and unctious as it should be.

Followed with cheese and there was presented a nice balance of cheeses and at room temperature, I have eaten at restaurants charging twice the price that cannot get that right. This is a good place and if you are looking for a meal in a classy room, a bit above usual pub standard and a bit less formal than the top of the line places, give it a try.
