Recently enjoyed a delicious short black at the Deli Platter, followed up by an afternoon tea blend recommended by the knowledgeable cafe manager, Trisha. The scenery here is beautiful, and the assortment of cakes, cheeses, meats and general 'european' deli goods are perfect for a couple looking to prepare themselves a delicious little picnic hamper or mix of antipasti.
If you are passing through Olinda, or even anywhere up in the Dandenongs, don't hesitate to check out the Deli Platter!

Imported food is hard to find in the dandenongs. It was like being back in England. Good food too and friendly staff.

Bonjour, This little cafe tucked in with a group of shops going down the hill from the Olinda Junction shops in the Dandenong Ranges is worth the climb... er drive!
The service is friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is simple, but pleasant, buzzy, and tastefully garnished with an assortment of grocery delicacies on
display for sale, from chocolates to Palmitas, fresh breads and specialty vinegars. The food is fresh, yummy and perfectly presented on simple clean white
crockery, wholesome and tasty.
The menu is pleasing with a nice refreshing variety. You can also have breakfast style fare all day, which is 'just a nice twist' on the traditional dishes... very nice!
The coffee... well! There is a little sign at the front door which reads 'Best Coffee in the World'. It is there with a little tongue-in-cheek humour, so I was informed, and I immediately thought of that scene in the movie 'Elf'. However, I have dined in cafes around the world and sipped on some of the best and worst cups of coffee
money can buy, and I have to admit, I had a (soy milk) Cafe latte, and it was indeed among the best I have ever had anywhere in the world.
I'm not sure if it is actually the best in the world, but it certainly deserves a '5 star rating'. Smooth as silk, not one bit bitter, yet a good strong flavour and aroma. They Use Piazza d'Oro L'Artista, but there is a lot more to the 'art' of making a good cup of coffee than just the blend of beans. I also like a short black espresso, so I may try that next time and there will be a next time! My friend had a hot chocolate and he says it was absolutely delicious, and tasted like it was made of melted chocolate.
I have no hesitation in recommending you visit, it is most definitely the best cup of coffee in town, if not the world! Mary is the owner, tell her I said hello.
